Ash-Shakur and ash-Shakir are among the beautiful names of Almighty Allah. The word derives from the root şe-ke-ra/şükr. The meaning of this root is to think of the blessing and reveal it. This word is the opposite of the word “blasphemy”, which means forgetting the blessing and covering it up. For Almighty Allah, the name Ash-Shakur is used in four places in the Qur'an and ash-Shakir in two places.
"And they will say :"All the praises and thanks be to Allah , who has removed from us (all) grief .Verily , our Lord is indeed OftForgiving , Most Ready to appreciate (good deeds and to recompense)." (35/Fâtır, 34)
"Why should Allah punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him . And Allah is Ever All-Appreciate (of good) ,All-Knowing."(4/Nîsa, 147)
Ash-Shakir is the present participle . It means that Almighty Allah has thanked you. Co-Shekur is an exaggerative present participle . It shows that Allah most high thanks a lot. Each being's gratitude is worthy of its own glory. The gratitude of Allah, the most high, is that he gives his servants a reward for what they used to do. Every reward we receive against worship, spiritual help, breadth of heart, etc. It is the gratitude of Allah, Who is Ash-Shakur.
Manifestations Of The Name Ash-Shakur
The name Ash-Shakur is one of the names that indicate the glory of Allah (SWT). Although the servants are obliged to worship him, and Allah is indebted or not obliged to anyone,He thanks them for their worship. That is only the treatment of our Lord, who loves and wishes good for his servants. The name Ash-Shakur manifests both in the world and in the hereafter.
a) World manifestations:
The manifestation of Sulaiman :
"And to Dawud We gave Suleiman .How excellent (a) slave !Verily , he was ever oft-returning in repentance(to Us)!"
"When there displayed before him , in the afternoon ,well trained horses of the highest breed (for Jihad)."
"And he said:"Alas ! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord ( in my Asr prayer)" till the time was over ,and (the sun ) had hidden in the veil (of night)."
"Then he said :"Bring them (horses) back to me ."Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks."( 38/Sâd, 30-33)
"So, We subjected to him the wind ,it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed."( 38/Sâd, 36)
The manifestation of Abraham:
Abraham invited his people to Tawheed. They didn't listen to him, they threatened him. He answered the command of his Lord and left his people. Almighty Allah thanked him for his submission. And he gave him a righteous offspring for his family, which he had left. And the people of prophethod gave relatives for their idolatrous relatives. For the land he left, he bestowed the House of Allah (Kaaba), which will be prosperous until the Day of Resurrection.:
"So when he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah ,We gave him Ishaque and Ya'qub,and each one of them We made a prophet."(19/Maryam, 49)
Manifestation Of Those Who Remember Allah:
“Whoever remembers me in his own nafs , I remember him in My own nafs . And whosoever mentions me in a people, I mention My servant in a people better than him.” (Bukhari 7405, Muslim 2675)
He who remembers Allah does good deeds for himself. Allah thanks his servant, even though Allah has no gain from it. He remembers it in His own person. Allah's remembrance of a servant means that He cares about him, loves him, surrounds him with His mercy.
And if a servant remembers his Lord among a people, then the thanks of Allah is that he remembers him in a better people. He commemorates him in the community of Angels. Being remembered in Mele-I al'a is an honor.
The main manifestation of the name Ash-Shakur is the hereafter. Allah gives ten to one, one hundred to one, seven hundred to one to His servants who come to him with good deeds, and increases whom He wills, and provides for whom He wills without reckoning.
