I was born in Eccles , no 10 Alma street , about 150yards down from the library. Went to st Andrews school ,lived in Eccles rec for most of my childhood and played down the docks and on the few bomb sites there was..I loved Eccles, I'm sad to see what it's become, charity shops and betting shops no proper shops you can buy a fresh loaf or cake. Yes I'm old (67) and my childhood was my love of my birth place 😀😀

I also used to live in Eccles - Barton Lane before marrying and moving down south. Really surprised how quiet it looks these days. Anybody know why? Thanks for sharing the video.

It is such a sad reflection of its former past. Moronic one way traffic system, than is almost impossible to navigate. A town centre that resembles a morgue. And all the old, decent buildings derelict and left to rot. Well done to those who are responsible!
