A. Why is Ecclesiastes so important?
Ecclesiastes presents us a naturalistic vision of life-one that sees life through distinctively human eyes-but ultimately recognizes the rule and reign of God in the world.
This more humanistic quality has made the book especially popular among younger audiences today, men and women who have seen more than their fair share of pain and instability in life but who still cling to their hope in God.
This week we will cover Chapter 4 and Chapter 5
i. CH4 Part 2 Value of companionship: It stresses the importance of companionship, stating that two are better than one, for they can help each other in times of need. Friendship and partnership are depicted as a defense against isolation and vulnerability.
ii. CH5 Reverence in worship: The chapter urges people to approach God with humility, to speak fewer words in His presence, and to fulfill vows made to Him. It advises caution and mindfulness in worship, reminding readers that God is in heaven, and we are on earth.
