No man commends you to be happy, and the point of this whole thing is “life under the sun.” There is amongst it weeping, mourning, warring, hating, and so on. The question then is what will you do about that?

@grantkingston4968 to answer your question, I will endure and suffer those things because we have no choice but to live amongst them. But to just hear someone say to be happy doesn't really help anyone. The reality of this life is that all of the things you mentioned greatly affect us and our ability to find and experience happiness.

@@davidmcclatchey2133 They do, yes. I’m not really sure where he says “be happy” in this. I mean part of us being like human and everything is that at the end of the day we simply can’t always be successful at that. I’m a pretty cynical person and I see that cynicism has wisdom in it, but being needlessly cynical about everything around you doesn’t help you or those in your vicinity. I’m not going to make a point out of this but I’m just going to say this: the Lord commands us to do many things in this dark world, but he also says that he’ll be there at the end of the day to pick up what we can’t carry.

@grantkingston4968 he says it close to the end of this video. I understand being cynical in this world with so much deception. We are in a real battle that very rarely relents, and at times, i find it exhausting. I don't consider myself to be a selfish person, but I would love to catch a break from the constant struggles and grind of everyday life. God bless
