It saves on the top string getting worn down

Why not use the last 2 diamonds on each side when finishing up the top string, i string my goalie sticks up that way to help with the slack along with keeping the sidewalls tight near the top

You can do it that way, we just found this to work really well and help from keeping the top string from wearing out.
