UPDATE: On one of the usmle forums an aspirant reported that they spoke to ECFMG they said: 1. that physician needs to be licensed in the jurisdiction where he perform evaluation 2. Also any MD of any speciality can preform evaluation but evaluation needs to be IM/FM/PEADS/OBGYN 3. Any country MD can preform evaluation ECFMG will post the updates on their website, we would suggest that everyone take their decisions based on current and future updates on the official ecfmg website. If we get can get any information directly from ecfmg through email or phone, we will update you.

Pathway 6 is for applicants who do not meet the eligibility requirements for Pathway 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and/or have failed Step 2 CS one or more times. To meet the requirements for Pathway 6, the applicant’s clinical skills must be evaluated by licensed physicians using ECFMG’s Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX) for Pathway 6.

Who gets the evaluator doctors? Ourselves or ECFMG provide them? Why do I have to put 900 dollars just to apply? Where are the availability dates to take the exam?

Do the evaluations have an expiration time? I mean can I take one year and apply the next? Or it has to be recently taken?

For clarity, a EM physician can conduct/evaluate a IM/PEDS... type case in the er? Also... can it be my primary care doctor or a family member's pcp?

I dont understand. I failed CS but applied for last years match and got pathway approval but went unmatched. This means this year i dont have to apply through pathway 6 and give the mini CEX?

Better to apply after ck, no advantage by doing it before as one of the requirements for pathway approval is completion of step1, ck and oet. And yes you cant complete your clinical evaluations before applying to pathway 6 in august

With Indian NMC not being accredited by WFME I think all Indians who wanna participate in Match from 2022 are under Pathway 6 ( if they haven't passed Step 2 CS etc) ?? Am I right about this??

Suppose that a case is chest pain or shortness of breath, is that possible for the evaluator to be an internist or a cardiologist? Is it possible to set for these encounters outside the US?

Chest pain, SOB can come under internal medicine/primary care. ECFMG also said acute/chronic so that is fine. The setting/patient encounter is more important than the doctors speciality. Outside the U.S no clarity like we mentioned in the video, until more info comes out in august. As of now best to plan for a U.S physician and to be in person in the U.S
