This film was written by my uncle through marriage, the great Arnold Bloom. What is really fascinating is how many talented people were involved. David Amram wrote the score.

+Mr. Izzo This was taken from a rather poor VHS tape I had. Do you have a better copy of it?

I think so but it will be a while before I can put it on KZbin. I will get to it eventually.

Hi all Mr. Izzo -- I would love to see a sharp[er clearer film-version of this video on you tube as you stated a year ago you may do !! i lived along the 3rd Ave El in Manhattan in the upper east side -- right next to an ancient Local Station built with the Manhattan EL line between 1877 and 1878 !! I rode and photographed the line a lot. My Manhattan portion of the line was torn down from Chatham Square to Harlem River (E.129th St) edge in late 1955, I also rode and photographed extensively, the Bronx Line between 1955 and its closing in April 1973, and covered its demolition thru early 1976. I also scratch-built modeled in O-Scale (1/4" to foot model scale) a full scale operating layout replica of the basic style NY City EL 3 Track line and structures, and stations. And built scale replicas of the old IRT and BMT Wooden El cars and BMT, IRT and IND steel subway trains of my youth. For LAYOUT VIDEOS -- Click my icon photo at left to see my layout videos channel on You Tube. FOR LAYOUT PHOTOS - see also my FLICKR PAGE Photo Albums for my NYC EL (and trolley lines under my EL) , found at www.flickr.com/photos/44268069@N00/albums I have fond memories of the Bronx 3rd Ave EL -- having ridden it and walked along it to photograph it - from 1955 thru about 1969, when the last of the old 1920's era steel old (ex subway division) El trains were removed. Sad that most mid to lower Bronx areas went to hell and crime and urban decay along the EL after 1970's.
