We have the same blower it runs well only problem is The grommet at the fuel tank leaks like a sieve. i’ve bought replacements through Amazon that were supposed to fit, and they are all slightly too small. I tried ordering one from Echo directly. They said the part has been discontinued. any ideas on where to get the rubber grommet or may be a possible fuel tank replacement that has obtainable Service parts?

@@TomDobyMowerRepair 10-4 i sure do appreciate it, we’ll give them a try. i know there’s plenty of these backpack blowers still out in the wild that probably need this part, but I haven’t had much luck. i’ll check around and report back here if I find something.

update- echo pb-265L Blower- fuel tank grommet discontinued-part#16117686297. Ordered 3 hole 23mm Rubber fuel tank grommets off Amazon-and what I found was the hole on this model fuel tank is slightly larger than most. which makes most rubber grommets fit to loose, causing the tank to leak. The rubber grommets ordered are actually 19.5 mm in the groove- fuel tank hole is 20.4 mm- plastic fuel tank thickness is 3mm- The Available 23 mm 3 hole rubber grommet is 4.5mm wide in the groove i added a 13/16”OD X 5/8” ID X 3/32” thick O-ring in the groove of the rubber grommet. making sure the O-ring stayed on top/outside the fuel tank in the rubber grommet groove.this tightened up the rubber grommet well. been using the blower for a few days now with zero issues. This fix is not perfect, but I’m confident it’ll keep the old blower running for years to come.
