@DavideDondiMusic 4 жыл бұрын
It's really interesting the way Mono plays with the palm muting technique: because of the upside down stringing, he uses the fatter sounding thumb on the high notes, and the lighter touch of index and middle on the low strings, and this makes for a big sound across the range. Obviously it depends also on his overall hands' sound, but I'd like to be able to play my bass with reversed strings to see if sounds improve!

Just spent the last 20 min or so trying to figure out one of the funkiest riffs ever at 15:44. Might've got it, but it's hard to tell with Whammy pedal in there. If not for KZbin's slowdown feature, probably wouldn't have gotten it haha! Mono plays it at such a fast and tight speed, it's hard to keep it up at that speed! Sounds super funky! Now I need a Digitech Whammy lol.

Fugya Mofug It’s more common than you think for lefties...just not super common with bassists tho! A lefty might play this way cause right handed gear is more accessible as opposed left handed gear, and most of the time less expensive. Rather than doing the “Jimi Hendrix” and doing all the work to flip the strings, bridge, strap locks, and usually pickups (Hendrix didn’t which is how he got his tone) a lefty might just learn it upside down to save the hassle. If you learn to play this way, you can literally play any instrument available, without needing a left handed model or any modifications. Dick Dale and Albert King are famous examples of lefties playing upside down guitars.
