I ordered mine. I upgraded my original echo show to this and am looking forward to using it. It has a perfect place waiting for it on my kitchen island.

They should just release the rotating base with its sound system and make it a dock for the Fire HD10. Snap it on and it becomes an Echo Show. Take it off and it's a tablet again.

The microphone disable and camera shutter are great features. You can ensure your privacy. I wouldn't buy a smart speaker/display without them.

Thank you for testing it as a kid! I'd love to know how it actually does with kids with adults in the room. I have a toddler and handsfree calls to grandparents would be amazing. I worry it would follow adults all the time. Can you set it to follow specific people in the room?

I doubt that there is any device with such technology for the mass market as it will be unreasonably priced. Person recognition at distances apart from close-up will require much more expensive components and software making it too expensive for the mass market

The product itself is just a slight improvement, if Amazon was smart enough it would have put wifi router inside the Echo Show, probably that could be their next product, Alexa enabled Wifi Router, - Echo Wifi. Alexa can tell you the current speed of the router and diagnose / troubleshoot any problem it has via the screen. the camera can be disabled here and there to stop following you, this is widely needed.

I recently purchased this device from Amazon and immediately had issues with the microphone not able to hear me unless I basically yelled . Contacted Amazon for tech support nobody could help so I asked for a replacement they refused saying I can send it in for repairs but for a fee It’s brand new two weeks old and they will not honor or replace the Devixe . I’ve been with Amazon for years and they have become hardline about any and everything I don’t recommend this product echo dot was fine

I might find that it would be a problem if it can’t tilt upwards at all. You have to be eye level with it at all times and you can’t have it on a coffee table or a short nightstand, without craning your neck down

My Echo Show 10 never quite faces the screen exactly at me when I am sitting am my kitchen counter and talking to it. It is always off by maybe 15 degrees which i find annoying.

I'm confused I thought you could automatically tilt the show, and as far as it following a person around the room, I think it would be a great security feature because often times I am trying to drop in and find my family member. It will start looking around to see where they are based on the voice location.

Iike how people complain about look it's pretty to follow you . What it can't tilt. I see now a days people's expectations of stuff are pretty high. They forget that we used to survive without this stuff just fine. We are all spoiled now a days and actually a bit impatient. Nothing is fast enough for people. People are never fully satisfied with anything.
