There's never been a better bass singer in gospel music than George other than possibly Big Chief who was with the Statesmen, Tim Riley who was with Gold City in my opinion. I know some would say J.D. Sumner but not for me because he growled too much. I liked Tennessee Ernie Ford too.

Jesus is my savior Ja, im Internet einfach ,,Harmony Quartet“ eingeben und dann wird die Webseite von der Gruppe erscheinen wo schon einige CDs erschienen sind, mit Alben aus den 90ern sowie das letzte aus dem Jahr 2018 oder so. Lohnt sich auf jedenfall sich diese CDs zu holen. Manche Alben sind Acapella gesungen worden, manche nur mit instrumentaler Begleitung (sprich Klavier) oder paar auch mit Playbacks. Also für jeden was dabei. Gottes reichen Segen

Jesus is my savior auf der Webseite der Männer kommen auch Benachrichtigungen wann neue Konzerte stattfinden, was natürlich wegen corona wahrscheinlich nicht unbedingt der Fall sein sollte, aber wahrscheinlich wieder kommen wird, sobald sich die Lage bessern sollte. Die Konzerte sind auch einfach nur empfehlenswert und meist sogar Eintrittsfrei.

Nobody matches up to the original Chuck Wagon Gang. I love the song. My mother was one of the best altos I ever heard and sounded so much like Anna the alto singer with the original Chuck Wagon Gang. This group is fantastic. When I first listened to them with the gentleman singing the bass part, I thought, he's not a bass singer but possibly a baritone. Then when the bass singer with glasses started singing, I thought wow they're a complete, fantastic quartet.

I loved this group before their last tenor singer came on board. George at one time sang with the Blueridge Quartet back in the early 60's. In 1963 the group was a trio until George left the Blueridge Quartet. Their best tenor ever was Bobby Clark. George was a great bass singer but Big Chief with the Statesmen was the best. Even J.D. Sumner didn't have the smooth bass voice; he growled too much for my taste.
