The lead singing Guitar player is a thing of the past. Pat Travers is an excellent guitarist and a very good vocalist. Pat Travers from the beginning named the band after himself and that is because he is the leader and has always been. The guy is pure Rock & Roll it is in his Heart and in his Soul . This man is the quintessential Dedicated Rocker for life no following trends or changing styles to adapt what you see is what you get . PAT TRAVERS IS 100 % Pure Rock & Roll and No Bullshit>

Just saw Pat in Kent, Ohio. Still a great player (his voice sounds like he's 70.... Father time gets them all eventually). It was a great show. He's a three-piece now, so he didn't play this song. It's one of my Favorites. Go for what you know is one of my favorite albums of all time. He played some songs off a new album he's working on and they were really good.

I love rush but I never got to see them live I got to see the Pat Travers Band live right before Crash and Burn came out and the lineup was Tommy Aldridge on drums Cowling on bass and Pat Thrall... that lineup was the tightest band I've ever seen in concert and they put on the best show I was ever privileged to see, the musicianship was just incredible... I've seen Van Halen, Aerosmith,Ted, Boston, REO, Sammy, Sabbath,Journey, E.L.O.,etc. They opened for Foghat whom I'd already seen twice before. Foghat opened with Stoned Blue, I asked my girl if she minded if we split before the song was even over, and she just smiled and shook her head... Pat and P. Thralls duel leads were so spotless it's a shame they couldn't stay together. I remember reading a guitar mag interview with some sidemen including Thrall, Vivian Campbell, and I think Dave Manniketti, and Brad Gillis, where I think I remember Thrall saying that it had something to do with Pat's huge ego. As a 57 y/o player since the age of 12 myself I of course can't imagine that... still o' shame ; the best show I ever saw. During Tommy's solo after about 10 or 12 minutes of beating on the set with the sticks he threw those out to the crowd played another 5 or so with his hands. I never got to see Palmer or Peart so... Dude was incredible...

Tommy Aldridge and that lineup was, indeed, the best. Especially in concert ! Tight as fuck. Live Go for What You Know proves this specifically. Aldridge playing drums with his hands is damn sweet. And an obvious crowd pleaser.

I'm 57 and grew up in Orlando florida .and I to got to see PTB at least 4 or 5 times but just once with Thrall about the same time as you right after the "Go For What You Know" album and I have to agree they were as tight as humanly possible .but The The Blizzard Band was also extremely tight. But like you I've seen about every single group that came out of the late 70s and 80s .and in all honesty I'm gonna say Judus Priest was the tightest live band EVER .and also saw Aldridge with Pat Travers Gary Moore .Blizzard Of Oz and Whitesnake .dude was a beast and only drummer that was any better especially on a double base kit was Neil Pert .he was just from another planet .honesty he was SO ahead of every other drummer .but yeah Aldridge would be my second pick .

Like i mentioned on a reply Pat in the late 70s early 80s was my favorite guitarist .i met him once at the Legendary Fern Park Station (Orlando Area) when i wasn't even old enough to be in the joint (17 but looked older Lol) saw him In Daytona Beach (twice) once at the Peabody Auditorium .and once during Spring break at the Old Plaza Hotel Ballroom along with Aldo Nova (for free i might ad) and at least once at the Lakeland Civic Center .His live Record "Go For What You Know" is in a tie for my favorite Live record of all time along with Judus Priest "Unleashed In The East" Randy's Tribute Album too.Rhoads was another unbelievably talented guitarist .after seeing him in 81 at Tampa's Curtis Hixon Hall i turned into a Randy Rhoads fanatic .also had tickets to see them again with Fournier in March 82 at the Tangerine Bowl but he got killed the day before in Leesburg on his way to the Festival .Pat living in Orlando at the time offered to fill in for Ozzy with less than a 24 hour notice .A Real Class Act for Pat to do .Have to admit it was a sad concert but seeing Pat again was the highlight of the Show .So yeah ive seen PTB more times than any other band and he never failed to impress .Thanks Pat for the music that inspired me and helped lay down my musical roots

I mean think about it put anybody next to Pat Travers and they're going to look inadequate but the guy in the 2019 video of Stevie buddy I don't know who you are I'll just call you buddy and not being disrespectful but it's kind of a dark blackened score that you'll see on your KZbin if you're looking at your phone and then when you open it up his hair is kind of blowing and he's got like a kind of a printed light green t-shirt on that's a great Stevie clip I know you'd love that just thought I'd tell you sound like an all star to me
@jeffreylujan74243 жыл бұрын
Look for that one that says Stevie and then it has parentheses on it and Stevie is in small writing in the background is kind of dark even when you open it up but it will pan up to Pat Travers and you can see his hair kind of flying in the background that's a much better Stevie clip than this one because the other guitar player player so if you're looking at your screen he's to the left of Pat and Pat comes over to him when they're playing those same notes that guy's good
