I’m literally building my eclipse right now My uncle had one when I was younger and I told myself I was going to have one one day i’m 18 and already bought a 97’ Spyder 2.4l automatic I’m going to the junkyard whenever I get a chance off work thanks to your video I finally found everything I’ll need for the manual swap hopefully it all goes well (I HAVE 2 MECHANICS HELPING JUST FOR REFERENCE ) lol but THANK YOU Miguel DSM for everything that you do you’re an amazing guy and way more inspiring then you know I’ve been watching for awhile ! even though you most likely won’t see this I want everyone else new to the car community to know if you have a vision it is possible!!! good luck to everyone building there beasts🤙🏼!!!!!!

Great video. I did the swap on my 98 GS a little over a year ago with the same write up. It is one of the best upgrades from the automatic. It is recommended to use a manual ECU. The auto ECU has a tendency to throw error codes or maybe you can figure a way around that. Good luck 👍

Yo Miguel , I’m looking into getting a cleannn eclipse gsx auto shell . Gonna manual swap it , and keep it stock engine while upgrading drivetrain n suspension/subframe planning to have all that finished a year and a half or more after I get the car then I’ll have a motor built . I’m not to worried about the engine bc my father has been in the Mitsubishi game for awhile he’s built and tuned a 6bolt gvr4 and a evo 8 and has other plans for a 4g63 rwd 82 starlet . I’ve picked up a few things here and there growing up but we’ve never dealt with a dsm . Is there any eclipse specific things that I should look out for replacing first ? Thanks in advance

Hello, I don't know anyone to ask this but is the DSM a good first car and daily if you're only running on stock non turbo? I'm planing on getting an AT Eclipse here in my country (Philippines). I just love the eclipse's body (2gb). I'm getting an AT since the traffic here in the city is a nightmare if I'm gonna go manual.

Hey Miguel quick update on my car, It's dead Cylinder one had no compression and we think that the engine is stalled (Again) This will make the fourth rebuild if I choose to do it. Debating on selling the car or putting into storage. Wish me luck bro!

I really wish you would do a few detailed videos on some DIY maintenance Items on that 420A Eclipse. There are not many good videos on different maintenance on these 420A. For example serpentine belt replacement, since this car has 2 and how to properly tension the belt. If you would do a few "ChrisFix" style videos, you would would be the King of Eclipses here on KZbin. Just an Idea for you. Help some of us, that do not know mutch but that want to do these jobs our selves and same some money.. Even the service manual does not really cover this very well....

The front wheel drive eclipse is just wierd to drive. If your use to a rear wheel drive car. . But i had a dsm 96. I now own a 2003. It cruises. But if you want to drift of have fun , get a rear wheel drive.
