Discover the stunning pink 'flames' captured by NASA during the recent solar eclipse. These aren't flames but solar prominences, massive arcs of glowing plasma revealing the sun's dynamic atmosphere. Dive into this short video to understand these celestial phenomena, their significance, and why future eclipses might be rarer than we think. Witness the beauty and power of our closest star in a way never seen before.

I observed that bright reddish pink color during totality! It was beautiful, and amazing! So glad we were able to experience this!

Awesome video...but I got a question for you now I have never heard of an eclipse taking the exact path and location, will future eclipses millions or billions of year later will the eclips path and location take the same path is it possible if not why?

And yet, they never gave a timeline for when the last solar eclipse will be.

You can see the effects when the moon is at it apogee during a solar eclipse. The moon does not completely cover the sun. Some sunshine come around the moon called an annular solar eclipse

Hey NASA- why didn’t you have a camera on the opposite side of the moon to capture the moon’s darkside which we can never see because it always faces away from us?!? Oh yeah, because you never went there in the first place.

You’re confusing the word darkside with the farside. Every spot on the Moon is dark for two weeks every month. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has been photographing the near side and far side of the Moon since 2009.

@@executivesteps If it was good enough for Pink Floyd it’s good enough for me! I’d like to see the images !

@@executivesteps Just how far is the “far side” if it is congruent with the other side,it being a 3d spherical object. I’d venture to say that it’s not really that far from the front.

What are u even talking about? Of course we went to the moon, jeezus... we even put up a flag with a very sturdy frame, and made sure to put a support across the top to suspend the flag, almost as if it were to avoid the flag instantly drooping down like a flag does... here on earth... with only a vertical pole🤔. But... yeh, definitely not for that reason, bc we definitely went there.. Remember they were even gonna let the civilian teacher go up there, so she could report back to the rest of the world, what she learned. I feel like a whole explosion was a lil much to avoid that from happening. Idk... Maybe popping her tires the morning-of, so she'd miss the launch... would have been a lil easier
