I agree! I typically equate it to trying to befriend a stray cat. If you just get close to it, immediately start being affectionate, etc, the cat won’t like that. You gotta take it slow, and let them come to you. Of course, it’s good for someone to get out of their comfort zone a bit, but they should do so by their own will, and maybe with a bit of help/encouragement. But they shouldn’t be forced out of their comfort zone. And the same goes for Eclipse. I’m pretty sure that Earth befriended him almost completely by just being patient. She didn’t lose her temper at him, she didn’t give up on him in any of their interactions, and she made sure that Eclipse KNEW that the option of getting help was there without pushing him too hard towards it. And eventually, he took it. From what I’ve seen, all it took was patience and perseverance to get through his shell.
