If the fusible white backing is made from paper then this is OK and can be called eco friendly, but if they are using plastic backing to fuse the leaves, then this is not eco-friendly. For that matter using paper also can't be eco-friendly because paper is made from trees...wondering exactly what that backing is made of, hope someone can enlighten me. Thanks

Im looking for an answer too. From the extensive research I have done so far (even visited Banana farms in my country, Bolivia), and consulting with people versed in the subject (Heat pressing), I believe it's banana paper they themselves make. Look it up, they have various videos on how to make paper out of banana leaves, which is a separate and intrinsic process on its own. cheers Gonzalo
