Hey Joy, 15+ yr detailer here, coming across this video. A small recommendation for tire shine application, only if your interested. Next time, apply your style on 3/4 tires, on the front driver's side tire however, spray unto the entire tire face ONLY, NOT THE TIRE BUFFER. Then wipe your rims of any overspray, and walk away. If done correctly you should have a nice layer of overly soaking tire spray, like wet snow! DON'T PANIC! After 30min, DAB ONLY, DON'T SCRUB EXCESS TIRE SPRAY DOTS! ( the secret is to do the tires 1st, then rims, then car. When your done, the tire spray should've sunk in) Hope you like it!

Hi joy, great video as always. Ahh washing our cars and as my wife puts it, "you are nuts about your car" ( lol ) so here is what i use. ONR - optimum no rinse wash with 2 buckets in my garage then wipe down with microfiber towels. ONR also has one with wax in it but i just use the standard one then every other wash I spray it with hydrosilex recharge which is a ceramic type based spray and wipe that down with microfiber towels. I have had a nice gloss to my black model 3 for months. Although I am taking it to the next level this Saturday and dropping it off for a application of Xpel wrap to the front end, mirrors and full hood wrap. Hopefully this will give me some peace when i have that done! .. lol, well see i guess. Thanks again for the video. Doug

Awesome! ONR is another product I've been hearing also. I would love to get a full semi-matte Xpel wrap done but it's just too costly for me. Thanks for sharing and your car is going to look super nice!

Very nice video and excellent advise. I use the Aero Cosmetics Waterless Car Wash Wax and find it works great. I always carry a 16oz. bottle pre-mixed and 2 microfiber towels with me in the small space in the trunk on the left side. This makes it possible to clean my car anywhere I go but I find doing it in my garage is the best as it is cooler for me and the car surface while I'm cleaning it which makes it better for us both. Of course, if we're traveling, I will go out when it's the coolest part of the morning daylight and do it then. In cold weather, I'll wait until it warms up enough for me to not be uncomfortable if possible. If there is a fair amount of road grime or salt on the car and I don't want to rub the paint much before removing it, I will go to a manual car wash that I can spray the car myself while walking around the car just to remove the heavy stuff and then leave to finish it with my own solution elsewhere. I've cleaned my car in the parking lot of resorts, motels, family/friends driveways, and even car EV meet up events. Most of those places wouldn't even be an option for the old hose and bucket or even the 2 bucket method that many have gone to.

TIP: You can use a bottle sprayer but it can take some time to spray the vehicle...I recommend a pump sprayer...By using a pump sprayer, you can cover more area and let the mist stay a while on the car to better breakdown the dirt and traffic film.... my favorite waterless wash product is Optimum ONR....it has great lubricity and won't promote scratching when you wipe down the car

I think ceramic is a waste of money. I don’t baby my car and ceramic wears off and you have to reapply again. It’s expensive and unnecessary.

Is it safe to spray and wipe even if the car is dusty? Won’t the dust leave scratches as you wipe? Should I rinse first?

nnystikai Gakushū Great question. No it doesn’t scratch your car (unless you have salt and sand from snow then you definitely need to rinse first). You can spray generously and let it sit for a few seconds before wiping down. I’ve not had scratches on my car and I’ve been using this system to clean for the last 8 months.

Using for dust is just fine. You just have to make sure you pay attention to your towel using technique. Always in straight lines and always be sure you are using a clean part of the town on the first pass.

Joy after you spray the car how long before you can safely wipe without scratching the paint? I live in New England and have to deal with snow and salt and sand

If you have salt and sand on your car, this method would not work well because it would scratch your car, but when you don't have those harsh elements on your car, this works really well. I just spray and wipe. Sometimes I do let it sit for a few seconds before wiping down. There's a video on Elite Finish's product page that you can watch on how they clean it. There's an eucalyptus tree hanging right over our parking space and the tree sap is terrible in spring/summer (like *now*). The sap sticks on the hood/windshield that wipers can't get rid off. But this solution works great and makes the grime come off easily.

Is this also safe if you have invested in any Ceramic Coating or PPF for your M3? I am aware you don't have either of these but when I get my car, I'd definitely consider this option. Also what do you use for interior cleaning and detailing on your leather seats and the dash? Keep up the great informative videos by the way! :thumbs up:

Hey Sunil! That's a great question. According to Elite Finish WashMist's website: "WashMist safely removes dirt and surface contaminants during washing, fortifies ceramic and wax protection, enhances shine, color, gloss, and ideal for all paint types and surfaces." So you can use this for ceramic coating and PPF on your Model 3. I also forgot to mention that I do use this to wipe down the interior. You can go to their website for more details on how to use this to wipe down interior. When are you getting your Model 3?

@@TeslaJoy Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at mid Summer for a simple reason that this is about the time when we'll be needing a 3rd car in the household. I currently drive a Nissan Maxima right now and that car looks to be the "hand me down" if you will to our household's 3rd driver. Forecasting ahead, I also plan on replacing my wife's BMW X3 xDrive 35i with a Model Y next year. This Washing solution looks to be a great replacement for me and it's simple to perform as well.

Hi Joy, thank you again your videos are very informative and I always learn something new. My Model 3 has paint protection film and ceramic coating. I’ll never run it thru a car wash. The ONR product is the one that works best for me, but rather than just a sprayer I use a 2 bucket washing system. My car survived the New England winter with this method alone and the paint still looks showroom-new. I also finish it with a carpro product specific to the ceramic coating I have on my car.

Sounds like a nice product. My only concern is not being able to give the car a prewash to remove heavy dirt that can scratch the paint while cleaning.

Yes, if you have salt or sand on the car, you should still hose it down first. But I've found that the solution works really well removing grime and tree saps that are stuck on my hood and windshield. And bird droppings/dead bugs, too.

@@laplage9151 If you car has that much dirt and contaminants and you don't have the option of using a hose or a pressure washer at your living residence. A good option is to go to one of those coin op car washes. Those usually have pressure washers so it can help get most of the big stuff off. Then you can follow her instructions on using this product. But mind you, have you use the pressure washer step at re coin op, if you want to clean your car with the product she is recommending, you have to clean your car semi regularly so the contaminants on the car is light enough for this product to use. Keep in mind that sprey bottle products like this are one of the best alternatives to a hose wash. Nothing beats having the librication of water, soap and a hose so while this product is best for people like her who does t have access to a hose, regular or semi regular cleaning of your car is needed for this.

@@JesusRomero-mk3xm Chemical Guys Eco wash is similar to the product she is using. The point of products saying "Eco" is that you don't have a hose constantly running. Chemical Guys sells both a Eco Wash RU (ready to use) and a concentrate. Both products by enlarge work about the same.
