I live in Vellore and this area to south of Vellore city is much better off compared to the actual city. The river that runs through Vellore, palar (river of milk) is dry almost every year. What these women have done is amazing considering the water scarcity problem that plagues most of Vellore district.

Truly great work. The ladies should be appreciated at the highest level. This initiative should be made as a national program. People all along the rivers banks of this country should be mobilised and involved. Fundings through MNREGA etc should essentially for such developmental projects. Regulatory agencies for river pollution and soil erosion should co-work with such team for a better, safe and sustainable living. Hats of to the women force of our nation.
