Recently ive tested to run a 24 hour both normal 25 degees and 25 degrees eco mode in our inverter split type 1.5hp aircon. Couldn't believe how much i can save using the latter. Been curious for months of how many kwh we use in a month. Now using a device to read the kwh i know now how much it cost running several temperature in our AC system. On the second day, still running the coldness feom the previous night i added the usual killowatts to cool our room until it just run on its maintaining power. Thats why the 2nd day doesnt have initial running power. usually for 2 hours we consume 1.5 kilowatts to co the room thats why i added it on the 2nd day.
24x9x30 on my video can also be translated as killowatts consume in 24 hours times the local electricity rate times for 30 days.
The result in this video is just presumptions based on the actual test ive conducted. Results may differ by electricity rate, brand, model, number of people in the room, room size, aircon capacity, appliances heatloads, insulations, fluctuation of temperature etc.
FYI
i really dont run my AC 24/7. I just did it for this experiment so i can figure how much it will cost me to run it for a whole day for a desired temperature. Usually i run it only for 6-12 hours max to save on electricity. I really dont need to operate it a whole day only when it gets really hot and humid. Electric fan is much cheaper to run if you are really on a budget.
Correct room size, correct AC size, number of people, appliances, placement of outdoor unit on direct sunlight can cause energy needed for the AC to run more.
Also take note that inverter aircon provides 50-70% on savings and you will save more if you use it less. Make sense right? The more you use, the heavier it is on our bill. Also the more we use it, the more dust it gets and we have to call for a cleaning more often than not. Just remember that this is not a commercial airconditioning that we can run 24/7. The more we run it, the more wear and tear our aircon gets. It is still much cheaper to run our AC for 6-12hours than 24/7.
