Public support for carbon pricing will always be the main challenge. In Canada - where all carbon tax revenue is returned to households - the carbon price is increasingly at risk. It is too easy a target for political opponents and not enough people understand that the revenue is recycled back to them

Carbon pricing is so critical to reducing emissions in a regulated market-based economy. Glad to see the proposed solution to inequality in impacts. I'd like to see more about revenue neutral programs especially - essentially they help give folks "sticker shock" to carbon-intensive purchases.

Great Video, it's important that lower income households are covered by the affects of carbon pricing.

It would be interesting to see what the "steady state" would be if all redistributive effects are neutralized (perfectly compensating the taxed groups, but keeping prices for carbon intensive products higher).

Maintaining the balance between green policies and social justice is one of the most important problems of our time. I believe, it is so difficult because we have to gauge interests of two underprivileged groups: The poor and those who have not been born yet. Taking away from either group does not seem fair, so we have to hold those accountable who have sufficient resources to spare.

why not price cap energy and use the funds for a permanent solution - transition to clean sources faster?
