This is a vicious cycle. So yeahh kinda millineals are responsible coz too much availability has created a chaos. Producing useless product makes no sense. For eg today the world needs ev and the auto sector with ought any thought kept producing petrol based models. The import of oil already keeps Indian currency falling. What more do they need. India grew for last 4 years at a rate never imagined in 2013 that too with low inflation. Its normal for a large economy like India to cool down for 1-2 years after posting tremendous growth from 2014-2018. The growth will hopefully pickup in 2020. Now is a great time to invest or start a business so that once the growth resume the business will have the capacity to handle the volume.

Everybody knows that this is a demand problem.Large middle class population has no money to spend.What is the savings rate?SENSELESS expansion in real estate during 2006-2010 is one of the major problems.During this period the real estate sector got huge funding and the prices were being manipulated by developers and some of their sympathisers.A hype was created that real estate is the only sector to invest in.Prices were prohibitive and yet people were buying.A large number of people who put their hard earned savings in real estate have not yet recovered from the shock they suffered.On top of this there were builders like UNITECH,JAYPEE INFRA,AMRAPALI and the likes who cheated people .Lot of illgotten cash went into real estate.Some of these projects never delivered promised accomadation and people lost lakhs of crores in the process.Even today inventory in NCR alone is huge which will not be absorbed in the next decade.Then came scams in stock markets,where people lost a lot of money.Now a stage has come where middle class has no extra income to buy anything.Wealth erosion after 2014 was huge for urban middle class who were real spenders.The GDP growth duri g 2006- 2012 was all bogus and was aided by SENSELESS expansion in real estate which generated demand and jobs.Where are real estate developers likeUNITEC H,JAYPEE,AMRAPALI etc now?We are a nation of scamsters.

It's clear that wages aren't rising because of the lack of creation of good quality skilled jobs in formal sector. 2018-2019 was the complete year of negligence. Jobs are market oriented but skill requirement per each sector varies from each other. Govt needs to focus on that.

I consider her reasoning partially right, and my fair reason, is that you definitely create supply first for everything, demand automatically comes, like smartphones came first and then demand for them automatically came because of invention, similar like KZbin came first and then people started creating content So definitely govt should consider on making things easy for businesses cause that in turn generates more income and employment, capitalism 101, and then automatically people get money to spend. First of all, I would like to mention that I come from a middle-class business family. All my family members are able to do good business in Maharashtra right now. The world is facing a global slowdown from the last 2-3 years and India meanwhile adopted some bold decisions like "Demonetization" and "GST". Adding to that India also faced lower than average rainfall in the last 3 years except 2019. So, despite all this India is able to manage an average 7% GDP growth rate and 6% in the current fiscal year 2019-2020. Yes we do have economic problems and government and RBI need to do a lot more to make it stable, but claiming it as crisis or recession-like situation is utter foolishness.

@S S 1. Brother, GDP number are calculated using complex formulas. If the formula is changed then x and 2x will give different answers, but note that value of x will be same. 2. I don't claim that I know it all. Demonitization was a bold step according to me. If you don't agree with me then that's fine. If you want then we can always discuss each other's viewpoint but arguing is not my cup of tea. 3. I come from a business family. My extended family members are situated in at least 3 states and most of them are having business as their primary earning source. And I have a lot of friends who are having business right now. Most of them are happy with GST. I agree some of them had to face a lot while GST was getting implemented. But that was at the start and now most of the business owners have accepted GST. 4. One can allocate 10,000 Cr to education but if only 2,000 Cr is getting utilized property and rest is either getting misused or going into corrupt hands then Allocating 2000Cr makes more sense. Also, look at the number of IITs, AIMS, IIMs now and compare it with 2012 or 2014. You will understand how taxpayers money can be utilized by avoiding corruption.

Just like all public affairs economy also work in cycles. There are periods where consumption gets low because of intangible factors related to public sentiments over commodities , services and economic future. Notwithstanding anything about cyclical nature economics experts like Ms Jayati Ghosh and also Prof Amaratya sen have questioned the structural feature of India economy " wealth to wage" transition. Indian economics is majorly domestic consumption. But the " national income" redistribution or per capita income is inordinately in favour of big corporates and powerful agriculture lobbies( large land owner, trade monopolies) who supply India's consumption along with foreign imports. Prof Jayati Ghosh stand is backed by Dr. Manmohan Singh's critical stand on the issue of managing supply situation to resolve a demand problem. Social sector spending is low on skill/ education training and even healthcare( Though current Govt has done much through reformative Ayushman Bharat scheme). Probably its time to revisit idea of creating All India Educational Services for long term skilling of human capital. Moreover labour intensive economy where wealth to wage transformation is faster needs a boost. The government of the day has discreetly targeted self employment/ entrepreneurship as economic model.Individual entrepreneurship works well when matched with capability particularly in domains of high end technologies involving ICT, data sciences, research oriented startups where innovation challenges traditionality .But this model engenders financial risk in case of failure for tranditional economical goods and services as is seen by various defaults in Mudra yojna. The energy of institutions like SHG, FPOs , micro industries with advantage of collective bargain, resource pooling, risk distribution, management matched against individual capability needs revisit by economist . As small production units compete with larger corporations in capture of resources and means of production goverment must side with smaller units.

Simply because supply is more than demand doesn't mean, the supplier will start selling the item in a deflated rate. Instead they cut cost by stopping manufacturing and reducing their number of employees. :)

Because suppliers are waiting for the boom in demand and if it happen suddenly it will disrupt the normal supply chain.. Basically we're stuck and will face either a slowdown or uncontrolled Inflation to breakout from this situation..
