Question. I have a customer in Florida that has a skin business, Botox etc. it’s located in a shopping mall next to a Chinese restaurant that has multiple hood exhaust. When I arrived I found the economizer blocked off due to sucking in food smells from next door. We’re in Florida and rarely need economizers. It has this jade controller. Is there away I can remove it and not have a economizer? Is it as simple as disconnecting it from the board and still have control of mechanical cooling? 50GC - PO6A2M5A6F3D0 Is my model number. They currently combat the smell with aroma 360 in duct work

Yes you can remove it and rewire. You generally need a "jumper plug" to do either. Basically follow the installation instructions in reverse. But you can also just leave it in place and change the settings on the JADE so it stays closed for now.

Never worked with economizers, are the stat wires to controler through factory harness, or physically run to it?
@TECTubefilms5 жыл бұрын
It could be either. On a new RTU ordered with an economizer, there would be wiring harness plugs that go into the "front" of the JADE. If the JADE is field installed, it will instead come with plugs that go into the "sides" of the JADE and they have wiring terminal screws instead.

What enthalpy curve should I set curve too to achieve the lowest humidity set-point
@TECTubefilms3 жыл бұрын
Lowest outdoor humidity? Use ES5... but that nearly disables the economizer. We recommend ES2 for the vast majority of applications.
@ganeshmotiram28473 жыл бұрын
@@TECTubefilms that’s strange , I had it set es5 , it was raining outside, 100 humidity and system was still economizing , I replaced temperature/humidity sensor , got the same results , customer wants limited amount of humidity to enter space.

The S bus enthalpy sensor shows no value under status, I put a new one in, still shows no value. There is no alarm either. Does anyone know why this is happening?
@TECTubefilms Жыл бұрын
This is a remedial question, but do you specifically have a Sylk enthlapy sensor?
@TECTubefilms Жыл бұрын
As a test, wire the sensor to the controller with a 1 foot cable so you know if it is a problem with the wire or the hardware. You can also wire the sensor to a different JADE so you can confirm the sensor is good. Make sure the dip switches are correct for the sensor that you are looking at on the status screen.

It’s actually coming off our BMS. Maybe it’s not the W7220A 1000?

Yes, it sounds unrelated to the JADE controller.

when you checkout y1in to y1out commanded closed I believe the compressor will only come on if you had 24vac on y1in, from your thermostat. If no 24vac it will just close and nothing will happen. I enjoyed your videos

On an existing running unit, how do I get a dampener to remain open 10% always that is not running currently economizing. Would changing set points/mixed air temp be doing that? This oddball unit has Y1 cool setup but oddly Y2 brown wire on tstat connected but not connected on the rooftop unit no know why, would that affect economizer controls if Y2 not setup?
@TECTubefilms4 жыл бұрын
Not really sure what you are asking. Do you want the damper to modulate between 10% and 100% when in economizing mode? Is that what you are asking? What do you have the minimum damper position set at now? How do you have the JADE occupancy input setup? Are there any other factors setup that involve damper position such as 2-speed fan or CO2 DCV?
@TECTubefilms4 жыл бұрын
And yes, both Y1 and Y2 of the thermostat should be wired to the JADE inputs. Even if there is only 1 stage of mechanical cooling.
@jonathonburnett72924 жыл бұрын
Tec Tube my business partner would probably say a fixed 10% open, unit is condensing causing water to drip leak in the prep area inside the building as means for a solution. It’s a one speed, unit settings are default as installing CO likely didint configure any (5 units same on roof for multi tenant commercial retail space) and dampener is closed screen in fresh air intake spotless nearly. But I’m fine with modulating 10-100% open based on temps outdoors (efficiency reasons) and setup the second stage Y2 wire (unconnected in unit above).
@jonathonburnett72924 жыл бұрын
Tec Tube I’m unsure of occupancy been looking at YT videos to understand how to configure this unit and be able to change settings here but as far as I understand it’s based on set points/ set point temps?
@TECTubefilms4 жыл бұрын
@@jonathonburnett7292 You should watch all 4 videos in this series. The economizer has two job functions (minimum code required ventilation and free cooling). In your example, you want to configure the economizer for 10% code ventilation when occupied and 0% at night when unoccupied. Then the economizer free cooling function will open the damper more than 10% when the space wants cooling AND it is cool outside.

What is this Alarm "Thermistor Fault is in alarm"?
@TECTubefilms6 жыл бұрын
Where are you seeing that alarm message? That seems to have more characters than a JADE screen can display? Does it say exactly "Thermistor Fault is in alarm?"

How do you keep the Damper open all the time?
@TECTubefilms4 жыл бұрын
Do you mean 100% open? You would not want to do that. You won't have enough heat in the RTU to handle that on a cold day and you also do not want to bring in that much heat and moisture in the other seasons. The damper is automated to only open more than the ventilation minimum when the thermostat asks for cooling AND their is cool air available outside. With that said, if you are determined to run 100% OA, then all you have to do is set the minimum ventilation position to 10vdc. But it is a very bad idea.

great video a lot of good info thank you.I had a question, I'm currently working on a jade controller on a carrier split system (heat pump) I'm having an issue on the status menu, im in cooling and it says heat pump is In heat.any Info would be greatly appreciated
@TECTubefilms7 жыл бұрын
Why do you believe it is in cooling? Because you have cold discharge air or because of the signal you can read with your meter on O/B? If you suspect a wiring issue, use your meter to check the inputs on the JADE board... specifically Y1-IN, Y2-IN, and AUX2-IN and compare them to the status screens for the same 3 inputs. If you suspect you may configured something incorrect, check System Setup for AUX2 IN. Do you have it configured for HP(O) or HP(B)? And don't forget about the Honeywell Tech Support hotline at 1-888-516-9347 when you can't find the answer in the book.

No, that program ran on Flash. Adobe has been blocking all old Flash programs from running since 1/12/21. Honeywell never created a replacement program on a more modern platform. It is too bad, because we used to use it in our in-person classes every month.
