Economy: From Modi 1.5 to Modi 3.0

In anticipation of the 2024 general elections, expectations are high for Modi 3.0, but the current state of affairs is more accurately termed Modi 1.5. The first seven years of Modi's rule were marked by ineffective policies and economic struggles, exacerbated by decisions like demonetisation and rushed GST implementation. Despite recent government spending to boost growth, doubts persist about its sustainability given high debt levels. Structural reforms are needed to address issues like business friction, infrastructure, and corruption, which continue to plague the economy.
