Most of developed countries including some developing ones have their fertility rate drop below 2. The incomes are falling or stagnant. It is very difficult to move up the economic ladder. Even buying a house requires mortgaging your kidneys. Will history repeat like in early 1900's when people turned to Communism and revolution dislodging monarchies and governments? I don't know. I am not saying people will turn to Communism now. But what is the response to current economic model which only allows you to live paycheck to paycheck? Most societies are aging rapidly. Consider these failed predictions: - by 2022 solar + battery storage will reach a "tipping point" for households - also by 2022 EVs will see massive adoption (and they will be full self-driving) Who believes this stuff anymore? It's almost 2025 and I see Big Tech companies signing contracts with nuclear power plants to run their power-hungry data centers. For the last decade those companies were installing solar panels and bird blenders (oops! I mean wind turbines) so that they could pretend to be carbon neutral. But that was all a public relations stunt. Now they've tacitly acknowledged that wind and solar CANNOT generate sufficient/reliable energy to meet their near-term AI goals. Before you know it the green mask will slip completely off and they'll start commissioning coal plants to get more power.

This is a great observation. If someone is not happy with their job, and don't produce direct personal results, but instead rely on others to produce for them, is this not an economic drain on the system akin to welfare systems? If that person were to get replaced by someone more motivated, more intelligent and more effective, then the economy itself would benefit from the move more than cutting welfare systems. This then explains the politics of the rich and poor, and things the governments should be doing to prevent this.

The problem of transferring wealth from the wealthy to the government sector by taxation does NOT balance the playing field. The reason is because that wealth sequestered by government does NOT find its way to the poor, but stays in the bureaucratic state. For proof of that, one only needs to compare the growth of government and bureaucracy with the poor living in the streets. So an increase in rebalancing, begets an increase in poverty.
