Economy Powerking 1614 tractor restoration

This video contains a slideshow of the restoration I did on my grandfathers 1975 Economy Powerking 1614 garden tractor. He used it a lot before he passed away in 1996. It sat for over 20 years until I decided to restore it to its former beauty.

I’m an currently restoring mine. I just need a new ignition coil. Yours has the same part as mine but I can’t find it anywhere. Any idea? Maybe it’s called something different but I’ve taken the part to multiple places and they can’t find anything either

Awesome job! I grew up with one of these. Its a little older, maybe from the early to mid 70's with the headlights on the outside and no hydraulics. One of my daddy projects is to restore it with my kids when they get a little older. Where is a good place to get parts from? How many hours you have in it? Power kings are pretty simple, what gave you the most trouble?

It was actually not too bad to restore since everything mechanical was in good shape. Prepping for paint was probably the hardest. The hydraulic lines were the most expensive part, I had them made. I would say I had maybe less than 40 hours in the restoration.

You can get new parts from Mission Manufacturing and used parts off eBay. I had my tractor 2418 since 1983 and restored it in 2010.

Does the center lift have bushings in the outer frame of the tractor

Shopline black epoxy and grey urethane primers. Made by PPG.

I got some of my stuff from powerkingtractorbarn.com. I have learned the owner passed away so I dont know about any other places that have parts.

Remove the air filter housing, the throttle linkage, the choke linkage, the fuel line, and the two bolts holding it to the engine.

What paint and color is that? I've got a 1977 PK 1614 I'm going to be restoring.

The color is J. I. Case Flambeau Red. It is the correct color for the Powerking tractors. PPG paint code 71282. The paint I used is PPG Shopline JAU which is a single stage gloss acrylic urethane. Hood, fenders, and floor were coated with PPG urethane clearcoat.

Chevy engine orange paint also matches up with the color of Power King tractors.
