Ecotech MP40 Bearing Replacement Using Common Tools

This is a simple poorly edited video on using common tools to replace the bearings on the MP40 circulation pump. The pump uses the 698ZZ and 697ZZ bearings. But be warned the $3 bearings are louder than the Factory bad ones...
Note: many people have issues after replacing the bearings. That's likely because of the pounding they give them to get the new ones on. I am doing another set using a press so Ill post the results and what bearing used if they are quiet.

hi mate thx for the video truly appreciated. i have tried to follow along and ive taken mine apart however i have hit abit of a roadblock as i dont know which way the 2 washers go.. from what i can see there is a red one and a curved black one.. any chance you can advise specifixally where abouts i put them when puttinf it back together?

Freeze the shaft and the bearings will go on a lot easier. Also a vice works super easy. You can find micro vises on eBay for less than $10

where I can find bearing magnet replacment? black midle part in the middle of bearings?

By sure what part that is. I only have done a straight magnet replacement.however if you send it a to ecotech and they can’t fix it they give you a god credit towards a new one.

Hi are the bearings the same for all revisions of the MP40? Also can they be upgraded the bearings to Japanese or German similar?

there is a thread om reefcentral that goes into all the bearings people have had success with. no they are different for each version.
