Ecovacs Deebot 901: Smart Vacuum, Broken App

I have owned the Deebot 901 for six months. The only issue is the occasional loss of the map. This is easily fixed by turning the deebot off/on and placing it back on the charger. Doing this reloads the saved map. Overall I'm very satisfied. Haven't experienced any app and firmware issue.

My 901 won’t map the whole house...Is there a trick to make it finish the entire house? Once it has that, I have a feeling it would work better. I’ve had mine a week and it has yet to map or finish cleaning. I called tech-support number in the Philippines and they are pretty useless. They suggested some basic troubleshooting but I have a feeling the issue is my floor is over 2000 ft.². Am I able to compartmentalize and haven’t learned that way? The issue becomes the vacuum off and die completely before finding the charging dock while mapping. If I try to pick it up or put it close to the dock to assist it it loses the map! How annoying.

I owned one and although I really wanted it to work it struggled to map my entire house. Maybe for small houses it would be good after they improve on the app. I got a Xiaomi Roborock S5 and although I spent a couple hundred bucks more I am extremely impressed with its performance, reliability and battery life.

I'm done with Deebot. After the update, it took the 901 from the list of robots to choose from so I can't even choose to connect. I tried choosing the 900 but it still won't connect. It goes through the store p steps for connecting but fails every single time. Ugh. Frustration levels rising. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I think I'll just get a Eufy and call it a day. 🤦🏾‍♂️

I just bought this deboot 901 (in mid November 2019) and I can’t connect my 2.4 ghz home WiFi network(s) to either app (ecovacs home or deboot 2017 apps). The actual robovac is a $200 amazon certified refurbished product but works well. I bought specifically for the smarts and I’m beyond disappointed. The actual robovac has no issue with its WiFi capability and I see it in my WiFi. I tried deleting apps, restarting resetting vac, creating a new account, turning off my service provider and only having WiFi to set up on my phone but nothing works. Just data errors in app. I’m connected to my home WiFi with full bars and it can’t seem to recognize or see it. The manufacturer site lists tons of name brand popular routers that are incompatible like Netgear, tplink, at&t and more. I have an xfinity dual band WiFi router that also has a SmartThings WiFi mesh router/3rd gen hub combo attached. Neither of the 2.4 ghz WiFi networks work with either app. Is there another 3rd party app I could connect it to? Just so I can get the alexa functionality? I have to bend down and hit the button on robovac to start a cleaning cycle everytime since it does not have a remote. Of course mine is located under a desk to hide it somewhat and I’m sure you can see how that’s a total pain. It’s one smart dumb robovac for sure!

i just bought deebot de35 which surprisingly is a china model..it comes with its on app which is chinese..luckily the owner is a chinese and she help me figure it up..and with google translate, it ease a lot
