Wait. Stair climbing will be forthcoming.
@cabot10017 сағат бұрын
@@axion8788 As with many enhancements with consumer products features such as this will be introduced in time. The ability to handle higher thresholds is not a feature of fered by at least a couple of manufacturers. A step is little more than a higher threshold. With a team of robot vacuums taking care of most of the rest of the house vacuuming the stairs manually in the house seems insignificant.

Just some advice here, Ecovac unlike other company WILL not update the software unless its critical, so if you see newer robot have new function that improve the cleaning or object avoidance that have nothing to do with hardware, YOU WILL NOT GET THAT UPDATE.

Finally a bagless one. I am so surprised no one has done this yet. Any chance you can get hold of a Xiaomi S20+ pro or Max to test? I am not sure if I am a fan of the app rating, because it remembers old scores when apps are "new", so it could eschew the latest iteration of the app.

The bags also serve as a filter. With a bagless design, you need a separate filter and will also need to clean the container. Which is why I think high-end models don't use bagless designs.
@fZionists78Күн бұрын
@@FantasticHydrait’s easier to empty a container than purchase and change bags. So long the canister filter remains clean, it’s less work and cheaper than dealing with bags.
@FantasticHydraКүн бұрын
@fZionists78 Cleaning the canister requires more work than simply replacing the bag. Eventually, you will need to clean the canister. Using bags requires less work but costs more.

I don't have a robot vacuum yet. I tend to be a late adopter after technology has increased and prices have fallen. One feature I think would be extra cool would be if the vacuum could notify you when it encounters a stain on your carpet or a mess on your hard floor that needs more attention than the robot can address. Seems with all the technology being put into these that this should be possible.
@chiminsu94002 күн бұрын
They have had this technology since 2022. This feature is usually on higher end flagship models. Ecovacs X5 Omni, T30S. Narwal Freo, Roborock S8 etc, This feature is usually referred to as AI dirt sense, which senses how dirty an area is and automatically initiates a remopping of the area.

This Black Friday I had to choose between this and a eureka n20+ at the same price, in the end I went for the eureka and I’m very happy with it. Lots of app and firmware updates. The only issue for the eureka is the mop that will leave cotton fluff over usage and the minuscule water tank.

It has always been kind of odd to me that manufacturers primarily use bags in their self empty stations instead of canisters like this. I'm still using an Ozmo 920, haven't seen the *need* to upgrade. I originally bought it used off of eBay which seemed to just be a customer returned item so was virtually new for £75. The only downside really like this video is the mopping, its just not good and I don't use it. The only things I'd really like are the self emptying dustbin and proper mopping but I don't think the price of these features is worth it for me.

Never getting another deebot again. The mapping sucks as does its room recognition software.
@angelicheeko2 күн бұрын
There should be a criteria for software reliability. Things like “what happens if my docking station moves slightly, or to a different part of the room?”. Or “can it handle moving the furniture around without remapping?” I have an Ecovac, and even without moving furniture around, it’ll get lost and start remapping randomly. Extremely frustrating. I would pay a premium for a robot that works reliably, a setup and forget type of device - which in my opinion the Ecovac is not.
