Small point. All Bosch ECUs operate on safety less is best. If you increase your torque limiter above the IQ limit, you'll get no more power. Your last crest would actually be flat across the 75mg/str line as it'll be the last limiter in the process flow. You'd need to increase your IQ limit to allow more mg/str. It might be worth having a chat about diesel EGTs and that the fuelling is inverse to petrol tuning.

Great vids! I've been subscribed for a few years, and really like the experiments and mods you're doing. Before that, I Remember the first thing I did to my first MB 190E was removing the rear silencer and putting a larger pipe in its place:D Failed the PKK (similar to your MOT I think), haha! Now I've had the A4 Avant 1.9TDI quattro for a few years. Swapped out the PD115 for a PD130 a couple of years back, started looking at VAGSuite and just resently ordered a MPPS clone. I've sort of been waiting for the turbo to fail, as an excuse to do some mechanical mods. Since that haven't happened, I've been doing a sound system instead:P Enough about me. Have you done any tuning on the A6 yet, or is the Polo the place where the magic happens? What about the "smoke limiter" map? *Feel free to continue this series:D I will definitely watch it!*

Questions strictly related to the video. 1st one, if you just touch the drivers wish map and leave the MAF and torque limiters as original you should not expect black smoke on the pipe right? I mean, if those are made to keep the environment safe, and the MAF is limiting the fuel in relation to the lambda, I would assume that changing just the drivers wish, well is not a real "improvement" but as it will request more juice (Still on the safe zone) from the other two maps it will change the user experience right? Second one, if you decide to change drivers wish, MAF and Torque limiters, and the MAF is the one limiting the fuel in relation signal from lambda, the only way to keep it on the right point is to add more boost along with the fuel you are adding right? And if you do, the question is how do you know by how much should you increase the boost to match the fuel being injected? Just experimenting or is there a formula? The solution that comes to my mind is first touching the fuel maps, then turn the car on and test it while logging the output from lambda (that of course will be super rich), and with that start touching the boost maps. But is there any other way to start adjusting the boost before doing this test? or at least how to get some hint.

Hi bro the fuel ratio is added or increase as the rate of air coming to engine and if we tune the engine and we have to do hit and try and the best method is to see the o2 sensor reading the minimum O2 in that fuel ratio the best for mor check my website www.howtocustomize.com

My PDK transmission also has a torque limiter. It can be turned off though the TCU computer by a tuner. If you turn it off, you will experience increased torque and a clutch that dont slip and increased traction. The downside is you give up that safety net. The Torque Limiter in the transmission prevents the transmission from experiencing a mechanical overload such as too much torque that could strip the gears or break a coupling or even the housing. In other words, one moment of fun you turn off the Torque limiter just to win that race then something easily preventable gets cracked or fractured and now you have to buy another $15,000 transmission. But at least you won the race. Lol.

Very informative thank you! Although I’m confused by your second comment @2:34... surely if max throttle is 75ml of fuel per stroke you can’t go any higher without changing injectors etc? Or would you have to adjust your fueling map to bring that 75ml cap higher?

I don't understand the point of a torque limit map. Is it only active during transient conditions to limit smoke? as its fuel over manifold pressure I assume it will limit fuel until the boost pressure at any specific rpm matches the boost at a steady state condition. I.e. There would be no need for the map if there were zero turbo lag.
@vPerformance9 жыл бұрын
varnishvarnish If i understand correctly, it's a very swift way of adjusting the ECU map for multiple models of car. It also allows the manufacturer to simulate smooth power delivery even when there's more power available. Most consumers don't want a surge of boost or wheelspin so the torque limit allows it to be reduced.

Horsepower is just torque x RPM. This limit is really limiting fuel injection across the RPM range, but it's called a torque limiter.

which maps should I look at modding and which should I leave out? The car sometimes feels like its lacking power until it hits a certain rev range then it picks up again. The 0-100 km/h is sometimes slow and the car seems to max out at 150km/h-its like it needs more fuel or something.

@Pinyoo819 жыл бұрын
If you replaced your injectors it's not likely to do anything with your torque map. It sounds to me that you might get smaller injectors. If that's the case you -or someone who is confident enough to do a remap :) - should start working around your duration and SOI maps.
@williamkelly299110 жыл бұрын
so on an old diesal car were the brain cant control the torque limiter or air mass and u wanted to do this eg 1.7 td u would have to do this manually on the injecter pump and the turbo wat would be the best way to do it and how would u be fit to tell when its getting the right amount of diesal and air and the best times for it wat would be the best way if that makes any sense ha?
@vPerformance10 жыл бұрын
For old fashioned non-electronic injection the limit is simply the fuel pump. If you can make the pump inject more fuel or install a bigger pump you'll get more power. For diesels it's easier because you can put in too much fuel and the engine will still run it'll just have a lot of black smoke. Check out "rolling coal" videos to see some crazy amounts of diesel injection.

uhmm lets see! if i got a 250 cc bike that means 11ml 2sec injection, so if i bore it for 350cc means x=(350*11)/250 x= 15.4ml 2 secs right ? in that case, may i use the same needle injector and trothle body (with more pressure (PC III or V) or do i need change it all (and why?) may i use megatunix to remap the original ecu ? thanks a lot!
@georgievvladimir10 жыл бұрын
Bikes use gasoline engines. Air/fuel mass ratio must be constant about 14. The more fuel you deliver the more air engine requires. Diesel engine work with excess of air. Air/fuel ratio is not so critical. That's why you can inject up to +20% more fuel. What you got is more power and black smoke from exhaust.
