Have you guys thought about developing or promoting "remote work" properties? The one positive outcome of the pandemic in the US is that US companies realize they no longer need their IT staff to work onsite. My company is considering "remote forever" as a new policy, and if they do, I am GONE from the US . This is why I follow your channel. I'm not sure I need to integrate with the culture right away. I just want a decent roof over my head, running water, a good climate, and fantastic internet access, and I am good to go. I want to work for my US company remote, and enjoy the economic benefits and weather in a country like Ecuador. Lots of countries are now offering 1 year "remote work" visas to promote this. I think Ecuador should do the same.

Hi there! That is a very interesting idea! There are lots of people who come here to travel around while still working from the US or wherever they're from. They tend to stay at affordable hotels or AirBnbs. We can recommend a place in Vilcabamba where many people have done this (with good internet).

Jessie, what is the financing terms for a property in Vilcabamba. We were just thinking of a small casita just for 2 to 3 people . What normally are the terms like down payment, monthly amortization and years to pay.

Hi there! Most properties are sold for cash only to foreigners, unless if they qualify for a mortgage loan at a local bank. However, the local banks only issue loans to permanent residents of Ecuador, and it takes a minimum of 2 years to get your permanent residency.
