Having a spiritual cleaning (limpia) in Cuenca, Ecuador. Traditional healing or "faith healing" is an important part of Ecuadorian culture, and many people believe that a “cleaning” helps keep our natural energy in balance and alleviates stress.
Doña Blanca Balarzo (filmed with permission) is traditional faith healer in her community. She explains that she uses different combination of herbs for men and women since masculine and feminine energies are different.

Thanks very much for commenting! Yes, when she snapped my head around it took me completely by surprise, I had no idea she was going to do that! Fortunately, no broken neck! The traditional spiritual cleansings are a big part of Ecuadorian culture (as I imagine they are in some parts of Brazil?) and my Ecuadorian wife is a big believer in them. Definitely a worthwhile experience, and I definitely felt the stress leave my body!
