Hi great video can't really see what values you have on your laptop. I'm trying to start my engine. I have zetec 36-1 trigger wheel. Does changing the first trigger tooth from say 9 to 8 alter the timing by 10 degrees without changing the trigger angle ?

Great explainer video. Thanks for sharing it. Can you tell us which settings you turned off so that the engine would just crank and not start while still having spark? I guess the injectors were turned off, and if so, which table did you use to do that?

Hello Wells normally for the ECUMaster where there is no tick box option to cut off injectors. Our harnesses come with removable injector harnesses so we can unplug all the injectors by just unplugging one connector and that is what we normally do.

hello there I have a question, so I am setting the timing like you did at 10 degrees on the gun and ecu. and at trigger angle of 64 i have the marks line up, but the problem is that when I try setting them at lets say 15 degrees then the timing is off and I need to adjust the trigger angle to 59, but then checking back at 10 degrees its off again, and I need to put it back to 64 for it to align. is this normal what should I check for?

Hey Omar yeah so if it lines up at 10 degrees does it change at all when you rev it up to say 3k rpm. If it starts to scatter then you might want to try and up the filtering of the crank/cam signals and if that doesn't fit then make sure the wiring is correct and make sure that you have set either falling or rising edge correctly. The edge will depend on your wiring of the sensor as you haven't stated what engine you are using you need to check what it should be.

This video is very helpful, I have a ecu master black and had to do a head gasket on my 7mgte (early 2jz basically) and I locked it and got it to 10 degrees as per the service manual but what happens afterwards? Do I save the settings to the ecu? Do I have to take the timing lock off then and save it? I'm not really sure, hopefully you can help me out, Thanks!

Yeah that is 100% correct. Once you have verified the timing then you untick the option to lock the timing and save the map to the ECU by clicking the make permanent tab.

Are you familiar with LinkECU standalone I'm having a issue on a stock na 2jzge vvt from a is300 in a 91 cressida. Just looking for a starter tune. One received I don't think is correct 🙏

I have a question, so I'm working on trying to tune a stock ecu and I've heard a few guys mention something about needing to jumper the ecu into base timing mode? Is this true and if so, what terminals would I need to jump O.o I watched one of your other videos where you had a ob2 to usb cable then simply went onto hptuners and read the room file and saved to make changes but if that's the case then I see no need for a jumper if the rom can be pulled from a read, the ecu is running a g13b 1.3L DIS, efi 16v sohc. I built this entire motor myself I've got a 10 page builder's log in case I need any of the specs as I recorded every single spec, torque, sequence etc and I've completely rewired every sensor and connection points between them and the ecu/ fuse panels/ obd, looming and etc I've already ran it through the break in and so far its running ok but a little rough, I'm noticing by looking at my data scan tool that the ecu keeps advancing timing too far to the point the engine barely starts and runs so my goal is to lock the timing to around -5 up to 5 degrees the reason for this is because my engine seems to run best between those ranges (trial n error learning) and has its most capable power but my ecu advances the timing up to 13 degrees atdc which for my engine is too much and loses its power firing too late then it hesitates to respond altogether so I'd like to resolve the timing issue otherwise if not I'm just going to say fck efi and convert to carb and permanently set the timing
