In this clip, Ed Lover spoke with Shawn Prez about his early days growing up in Brooklyn and Queens. Ed recounted the cultural influence of hip-hop in Queens and meeting a lot of the towering figures in hip-hop such as LL Cool J and Run DMC before the fame. He also revealed he used to be part of a funk band and played the trumpet most of his life.

It’s about time. Ed is a Hip Hop guru. A legend. A God. His knowledge of the game during the 80’s, 90’s and all of the people he knows is unparalleled. I don’t think I know of anyone from that era who doesn’t fuck with Ed. I hope they ask him about the Young Gunz and Tupac and all of that shit. I heard him speak on it before but I want to hear more.
