The 2 very handsome young men are Andrea's son's from his first marriage and are big Ed Sheeran (your pronunciation is correct, tell Ray to get a grip) fans. They recommended their father record it after they heard Ed wanted to collaborate with him. So Andrea did the Italian translation which changes the actual lyrics just a bit (if you translated back to English they wouldn't match the original). Ed feels the romanticism of the Italian makes it a better song. Of course he wrote the original purely as a love song to his Fiance, whom he knew when they were in high school together. Now you know everything you need to.

Fun Fact - Ed Sheeran, as a contemporary vocalist, sings into the microphone, spit guard and all. Bocelli, having been classically trained, really has no use for a microphone at all, unless he is in studio or a very large venue with lousy acoustics. At the 2:30 mark, you notice he physically holds the microphone; this is so he can make sure he is far enough from it as to not overpower Sheeran sonically, but also to let his innate and trained ability to project his voice work for him. When you see live performances, most keep their mike close, so they can let it do the work of projecting their voice to an audience. Bocelli has been at this for over 30 years.
