I have autism and when I was younger, my mom bought me a small lego set that I would build at a restaurant to focus on something. I'd be quiet and this allowed my parents to have some time to themselves and it allowed me to be occupied.

Have to admit I loved the Lego too but never had it as a kid. So I went completely OTT with Lego for my son! Bought my 7 year old the big Deathstar (I promised it to him before I knew how much the damn thing cost!! Parents - check before you commit!!) Don't regret it though... took us a couple of weeks to build it together, we both had a blast. Still has pride of place out in the conservatory 7 years on!! Love that Ed did this! Lovely lad!

The term is AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO). There's tons of us out there. My Husband is a serious collector and we have tons of fun together with it. We had a LEGO themed wedding. Our cake was built to look like large LEGO bricks and the topper was LEGO. I gave my Husband custom cufflinks and tie clip made from LEGO, which he wore. We'll be celebrating our first wedding anniversary in LEGO Land.
