It was just a casual question (which they probably were obligated to ask) and there wasn't any actual pressure to answer it. When he didn't they moved straight on. I don't see the harm in that.

Arguably one of the most famous cricket venues in the world..... So that's a bit of a contradiction lol.

ok all I heard was the song don't. he does not look like how he sounds lol. a ginger!!! And why do people with Australian or British accents sing with an American accent?
@lexstyles756610 жыл бұрын
in an interview harry styles said he thought it was because he grew up listening to American music, so it sorta trained him a little bit and it's just what he's used to
@iMsOiNsO10 жыл бұрын
lex rhodes I should start listening to only British tv in that case. I know that's how you pick up on an accent. I really would like to learn more languages and accents than US American accent.
@TheTrilogical10 жыл бұрын
Most of the time people lose any accent when they sing, even Americans. You just think they get an American accent because that is what you view as 'normal'. I think this happens because when someone sings, they strip the lyrics down to the core sounds of the English language, instead of saying words like they have been taught. He has no identifiable accent when singing, just like most people. Anyway, if you want to learn more accents, you have the right idea watching TV but that still wont get you far. Australians seem to always have the easiest time mimicking accents, so it's easy for me, not so easy for you. That being said, let's examine why it's so easy for us. The Australian accent is very lazy in almost all syllables, unlike the accentuated 'o' sounds in England, and the 'r' in American. This means that instead of having to unlearn any sound habits, we can just build on them. This is the state you want to try and achieve. No absolute focus on any particular sound yet. From there you have a building block. If you try English on top of your existing accent, you will sound ridiculous. First try dropping your r's, but don't go too over the top cockney 'I ain't talkin to no one what migh' ave the plague.' Watch some BBC or ABC programs and focus on their speech patterns, mouth movements and particular sounds. If you're struggling with something in particular, focus on that. Some British shows you might like are Doctor Who, Torchwood, Top Gear, Sherlock, Midsummer Murders (basically any murder mystery.) Also remember that, like AMerica, there isn't one accent in Brittian. Keep that in mind when learning. Choose one in particular and focus on it. Same with Australia. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT do Crocadile Dundee. No mate no g'day and especially no barbequed prawns. Instead, I would get your English accent and drop the o's, then you're getting close. Of course living in the country is obviously the ideal, but that's dedication. Now I am certainly not an expert of any kind, these are just my observations and ideas (I've been observing these things for a while.) Imagine, once you've got English and Australian, you could go to Scottish, then Welsh, then the ever elusive Irish (I'm working on perfecting my Irish, it's quite the challenge.) I wish you good luck on your journey through the English language's many variants. If you have any questions just ask. You know. This was way more that you would have ever needed, I just wanted to write it all out. Sorry. Heh heh.
@iMsOiNsO10 жыл бұрын
TheTrilogical Thank you so much. It's better reading advice coming from someone who actually has the accent. I learned more from that then these websites I try to search about it on. Thanks :) and I love the Irish accent so much. I can do the words with r's pretty good. Like park or car. The rest Is just ok. But Irish is definitely a accent I want to learn.
@TheTrilogical10 жыл бұрын
Rollo Koster No problem, glad to help. :) You know, Irish will probably be easier for you than me because the base syllables of Irish are very similar to American. Anyway, have fun!
