My mom died in a car accident when I was 3 years old. I was in the same car when the accident happened. My aunt told me that they found me below the legs of my mom as if she tried to protect me in the last moment. My aunt took care of me since then and adopted me. Now when I refer to "mom" I think of my aunt. I am grateful to be blessed with two moms in a life time. Thank you for the song, Ed. I really appreciate it.

Wow, I guess since you were 3 you weren't very sure of what was happening but just know that parents are the most important thing in life and they are the ones that raised you and tought you your ways of life, My mom had surgery and almost died I was so careful with her at the time and I had no idea what to do I was so scared of loosing my mom that I just stayed in my room and cried. Last week, I was on the way home from the hospital after visiting my 97 year-old Granny (she had a heart attack and a stroke at the same time). I went to visit her that night. When I left, I was listening to Ed Sheeran’s new album, and this song came on. I immediately started to cry in my car after seeing her struggling in that hospital bed. Last night, I came home after visiting her at the hospital once again, and I recorded a version that I hoped to play her - she always loved my singing. I woke up this morning to the heart-breaking news that my beautiful grandmother had passed away. Life is not something to take for granted - hold your loved ones close while you can. I love you so much, Granny. May your heart and soul rest in peace, and your amazing memories live on forever. I know that when God took you back, he said Hallelujah, you’re home. I covered the song on my channel, it would mean the world if Ed could see this to show the power that music can have on somebody

My mom is, in every sense of the word, a superhero. At 10 my dad got sick and lost his ability to walk. My mom became the provider of the family and worked so much to give us a good life. When I was 12, she was diagnosed with cancer. Even after her double mastectomy, she forced herself out of bed and into the car because she was the only on that could take us to school. Recently, her cancer has come back. Things aren't looking up. My mom always told me I could sing, but I've never been comfortable doing it in front of other people. I told myself that if she does go, if i find the right song, I would sing at her funeral... I found the right song :)

It hits the hardest when it's your turn to say goodbye. Death is ubiquitous and inevitable. My dad lost his life in an accident (2021). This was just months before my graduation day. He never got a chance to see me in that cap and gown. I never knew pain could cut this deep. Time heals all wounds, but sometimes it feels like time's just shredding me into pieces. I've come to accept i can't shake off this pain, i have to learn how to live with it. What gives me peace and relief is when God took you back He said Hallelujah! You're finally Home. I just lost my mom on the 12 of feb, 2019. She had just finished her rounds of chemo last week. She died of a pulmonary embolism. She was at home, like she wanted, when she left us and this world. I found this song years ago and loved it simply because it’s beautiful. Just rediscovered it a week after my mum suddenly passed away from a gastrointestinal bleed. She was only 51. I’m 22 and my two brothers are about to turn 19. We miss her so much 😢😢
