Latest update: The doctor called me one hour ago to explain the delay and a few other things. Basically they have to bring in specialist equipment to perform the operation which will take place this Sunday 9th. Tomorrow evening I have to meet with the brain surgery who wants to explain the procedure face to face.

Hi Nick. You’re a top bloke for helping him out. I don’t know if there is anything you can do but he needs the surgery a lot sooner than Sunday. I am no doctor but I did have an abscess that was resistant to antibiotics and had emergency surgery within the day. If I left it any longer it would have grown and I would have eventually got sepsis which can kill you pretty rapidly, and i’m only in my thirties. I know you can only do what you can over there though, good luck!

Thanks for the update. No one looks forward to brain surgery, but this type of surgery has greatly advanced in modern times. Some damage will come from the surgery, but it may lead to a solution. He might not have made it back to the uk so this probably is his best chance for recovery. It took me 15 months to recover from a serious problem so I can relate. Take each day with confidence and trust. It is good for both Ed to know you are supportive, and the medical staff also need that feedback as they are doing their best to help him with current practices and technology. Ed looked shaky, but far better than me when I was in the hospital. No one could come and see me at the time because of covid restrictions. Keep up the great work supporting him and good luck with your business.

Brain surgery is one of the most brutal surgeries people can have , but it saves lives and can prevent loss of cerebral function

@@lb7034 80-90 percent success rate. standard policy for abscesses is they operate when over 2.5 cm. If it is bacterial or fungal drugs may work. I think they are hoping the drugs will start working so surgery can be avoided, but they want to prepare Ed.
