This show is like the 8th season of Next Generation. It's like they spent the last season and a half of STNG changing it to a comedy show. This way when the Orville crew took over you wouldn't even notice.

Of course it does. It trying to play off the feelings you have from the 90s. Discovery is trying to reach out to a new generation of fans, and not about keeping the old fans happy. TNG did the exactly the same thing in the 90s.

He was a ble to expand off of the first series, keeping cannon and appealing to his newer, younger audiences who may have seen TOS in reruns. STD has made virtually no attempt to do the same. STD is virtue signaling with a storyline thrown in as an afterthought.

Disovery, and PICARD WAS total let down. Picard was slightly better than discovery(this is considered non-canon, because they cant explain the extremely advanced technology they are using for that century. discovery was using technology more akin to BSG jump drives, something the 23-31st century never had.

SPOILER ALERT: Here goes~ The anomaly is a portal to a 2D world. Very nice concept. God I love "The Orville". Atoms get flatten inside and expand as they exit. So, our concept of lifeforms can't survive that. They'll die as if they're suffocated. The 2D lifeforms within that universe, well, watch the episode. Cheers~
