It was both. They were about to commit homicide and suicide after. Raine was ready because "didn't have anything to lose", and Eda thought that she was able to take that sacrifice in her crisis of "King and Luz have real families to return with" like "they are going to leave me behind eventually, so..." it was very sad... (sorry my english is not good)

For example, MLP’s infamous scene where Pinkie Pie goes insane, and then another episodes involves literal magical mass murder as Pinkie’s clones are sent back to the Mirror Pool. Another example is Digimon Tamers, and while this is an anime (which basically automatically makes it darker), even in the _English dub_ of this _kids’ anime_, there’s a scene where a 12 year old talks about wanting to do the self-oof before attempting to do said oof using a hand puppet. Isn’t that lovely? Now, another example of underlying messages from TOH: Chronic Illness’ effects in families, symbolized by Eda’s Curse in Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances. Gwendolyn (may have spelled that wrong, my apologies!) Clawthorne paid more attention to Eda, the child suffering from a curse (chronic illness), neglecting Lilith to an extent (the healthier child). Admittedly, I did kind of see this reflection from some other comments around the internet, and I may be misremembering and/or misinterpreting some details. TL;DR, even kids’ shows can have dark secondary meanings. Kids may not always see them, but older viewers do more often. I do realize I went on a tangent there, which may have been a slight bit unnecessary, especially given the fact that you seem a bit young based on your reply here. That, and the fact that I’m 6 months late... 😅

Okay but I just got to say, I appreciate Eda’s foot tap 0:24 (And the head nod before that). As a band kid, I like the little detail because I do the tapping when I play. Don’t know why it makes me so happy, but it does. But I loved this scene so much. The music, the motions, the character emotions and words.

The music is beautiful and the way it stops when Eda hears Raine ask if she had kids and somone to go back top. It's perfect. It's like in that moment she realised she had somone to live for and love but she tries to hide it away. Also the voice activity dromedary and Raine is perfect. Raine especially has a lot of emmpipns to deal with both here and in the series and they knock it out of the park with every scene

Omg I have a theory. Hear me out. (Mild spoiler warning) With the newest episode out now (season 2 ep 15) I think what this power in the video might be is the same bard magic that Raine used to change the chemical composition of the tea (or any liquid) but just cranked to the maximum. Eda might be capable of changing the molecular structure not only of liquids but also of living matter. It could be tied to the negative emotions she’s feeling which is why it spiralled out of control (or I could be completely wrong and the whole thing is unrelated) but imagine how powerful Raine would be if they also somehow mastered that kind or power.

I think it’s that Eda’s curse is messing with the magic that keeps the island alive through Raine. Since their instrument connected with the area around them once Eda joined it started destroying what Raine touched.

Eda's curse messes with her magic, or to be more exact, it destroys magic. Raine is using their magic to which creates a magical field around the area but because Eda's curses alters or destroys magic, its effecting the magical field that Raine created

This is a beautiful scene with so much that can be read into it, but one of the things that stands out most to me is the implication that some of the curse's effects can be spread through vestiges of Eda's magic. The tactical and narrative implications are concerning. I would suspect that this comes from the collector turning the owl beast into a scroll as opposed to the owl beast itself.

Invade no one realizes why it became destructive is that since she’s devoid of magic and stuck with the owl beast who’s known for its purely chaotic and destructive behavior, it was using the curse to destroy and consume, that’s why it glows with such a dark aura Also another reason is because when she’s joins in, is when it becomes destructive in nature, unlike when twine was only playing
