There are a couple titanium versions that are larger but work great! They’re about $10 for a 2 pack. I like them because they have a little more give so they’re easier to attach to your pocket.

Good to remember that these pocket clips are just a strip of metal, more or less, bent over themselves, with a tiny hole drilled in one end. Find some old spoons or knives, cold hammer them over on themselves. Then take your best guess where the hole should go and then hack saw off the extra bit. Rub it on some sandpaper to take off the burs. Don't like how it came out? Just try it again.. Using spoons like this has long been a thing. .And it is fun.

Agreed. I do like the Nanoclip. I have purchased 2 at the ‘sale’ price (which is still about twice as expensive as I think they should be). I find them to be good quality and a good solution for the small torch and knife pocket I currently carry.

Yeah the Nanoclip IS really good - it just grinds my gristle a bit to think they’re charging £8 for one piece. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the video. I use a short cord looped around my belt. A strong magnet at the end of the cord holds a tool upright inside my pocket. I have tried clips similar to what you show, but they often slip off my pocket when crouching or sitting down.

This sounds fantastic. How do you attach the magnet to the cord?
@Bob-I-am
@Bob-I-am 2 жыл бұрын
@@wvbeatlefan It has been working better than any other method I've tried. Of course, the item to be carried must be made of a metal which is attracted to a magnet. Use a rare earth magnet. I use one half of a KeyBar aluminum MagNut and tie the paracord through a split ring on the MagNut.

Whenever I get a new pair of outdoor type trousers, or shorts, I sew in a circle of strong cord, to the inside of the pockets near the top,. Then you can clip in keys /knives etc, using a small karabiner,,. The objects are safe and out of site, and are virtually un-noticeable, in everyday use.. 5 minutes for each pocket, and it's there, for the life of the pants,,.. A knife with a pocket clip, just hooks straight on without even needing a karabiner, and is just as accessible as clipped on the pocket, (in view).. I've done this for year's, and I'll always do it in future..

My rule of thumb is on small SAK's 58 - 84mm - small nylon Victorinox brand colored lanyards, 3 & 4 layer 91mm SAKs that are compatible with the SwissQlip pocket clip get fitted with them, all other 2 layer to 5 layer 91mm SAK's & 93mm Alox SAKs mostly get the small Vic nylon lanyard but some of them & most of my 111mm SAK's get either a paracord lanyard or a Micro-sized Nitefox flashlight on a small chain with a Carabiner clip that doubles as a lanyard. Almost all my knives that do not have a pocket clip I carry in a Victorinox or other brand leather or artificial leather pocket slip . I do however carry 84/85mm SAK's & other brand very small knives snuggly in the ticket pocket of my Jeans without the need of a pocket slip & as an exception to the rule I carry my 91mm Compacts that protrude out about 1/2 inch in the same ticket pocket

Is the Swissqlip good? I’ve always liked the idea of a pocket clip on SAKs but I can’t work out if the Swissqlip adds a lot of bulk and makes the handling uncomfortable? And it it securely enough attached? I also do love the look of nylon and paracord lanyards and suchlike but the most important thing for me is ensuring stuff isn’t going to fall out of my pockets, hence the attachment options. Always keen to hear what other folks are using! Thanks for your input! 🙂
@stevesinclair4159
@stevesinclair4159 2 жыл бұрын
@@accoutrements4469 The SwissQlip does not add much bulk & I've not experienced it digging into my palm when gripping a SAK fitted with one. Note that the original SwissQlip is sold on both Amazon & eBay & some sellers charge up to 50% more for them but the good news is that there are very good quality Chinese made clones of the SwissQlip on eBay for half the price of the original ( which is probably made in China anyway ) and these unbranded clones actually have a Torx head screw that fits tighter than the Phillips head screw used on the original. Fully 2/3 rd of my clips are the Chinese made ones & its saved me a bundle.

Cool topic, not something much talked about. I like to use paracord lanyards around the belt or belt loops, with or without carabineers. The Victorinox etc. remains suspended by the belt inside the pocket, wich i think is better than having it at the bottom.

Best solution for 91mm SAKs in my opinion is available from a UK ebay seller, he's also uploaded somewhere here on yt. He sells replacement scales in a number of colours, plus or normal, with pocket clips screwed in on the back scales i.e. the side without the emblem. He did a really good job as it looks like it came from the factory with a clip, and the price isn't bad, my black plus scales with black clip were £12.50. Highly recommended.

I've been eyeing those clip scales on eBay! So they’re sturdy enough? Do they make the knife really bulky though?
@simonh6371
@simonh6371 Жыл бұрын
@@accoutrements4469 Definitely sturdy enough if you're not planning to hang 50kg weights off it lol. Sure they add to width of the knife in the hand like all pocket clips, but obviously not in your pocket as the clip is on the outside.

SURVIVAL ⚠️ ALERT tip: All of the LED flashlights will be fried, destroyed when an EMP hits them 🔦 You should ALWAYS carry an incandescent type of flashlight as a backup to your LED flashlights and carry a mechanical wrist-watch as a backup to your digital watch ! *Please also research which two-way communication handheld radios cannot be destroyed by an EMP.

I use the hot garbage clips. So far it holds my little flash light and Swiss army recruit well . I think I paid $.75 for each clip. Just to see if that's what I like investing in the best suspension clip. I agree just buy the better one the cheap one has proven itself and has not broken with use
