Nice video! I wonder what more garbage company's are doing about these situations cause Ik these carts are not cheap so some offer cart repairs! But now I can see why most of these companies like CR&R go with Toter carts now a days different shape works better for the grabber. Because I saw that issue a lot with Roto carts.

I have calmet services and we use to have the brand you have which is roto they lasted for a long time until they switched to otto and rehrig which dont last.our city renewed its contract with calmet in 2016 and took all the roto carts we had and replaced them all with otto and rehig which break like crazy ( bottoms cracked,axels coming loose etc) I'm seeing more carts replaced in the past 3 years than the past 20 we had the roto brand

I think so! Companies realize this now my company CR&R is currently reusing old Rotos. Just got 2 delivered and there in better shape then even my old toters were after 10 years.

Not much a driver can do when a container is below grade level, even by only a couple inches sometimes. You cant lower the arm any lower than its stow position, so if the gripper catches the top square section of the cart, it'll crush it every time. That brand of cart in the video is one of the best carts ever produced, and the video demonstrates why. The brand of cart Edco buys now is injection molded which is a much cheaper quality, and I'd be willing to bet money that it'll break within 5 years. Not because the lid will pop off, but because the plastic itself will shatter. If you could find a way to elevate your carts even just a few inches when out for collection, this will likely never be an issue again.

Thanks for the info. Most houses in our area do not have sidewalks or curbs. Yes I can see new carts are lightweight and filmze, EDCO will just give me new ones when they break, a great company. Thanks for watching.

I dialed the number and EDCO picked up these old one and gave me new ones. However, the new one are not as heavy duty. Don't misunderstand I love EDCO and have worked with their management team in our local Chamber of Commerce.
