*If you haven't seen Part 1*
• EDCO Waste & Recycling...
A year ago I published EDCO Waste & Recycling Services of Poway, CA, a project that I worked on diligently throughout the summer of 2015. After publishing the video I noticed that there was a lot of left over footage, but the footage would have been too short to have each truck to have their own video. So I decided that it was time to make a part 2. Part 2 really isn’t much different from part 1 IMO. There are some new trucks but there are a couple of familiar trucks that have made a reappearance in part 2.
I became interested in Poway some three years ago. Finding out that it was probably one of the only cities ran by EDCO in San Diego that still used heil rapid rails as their assigned trucks (all the other cities had turned to using bridgeports or were in the process of converting their city into ZR’s).
Since then every so often I would check up on the city to see if anything was new. Nothing major until I filmed part 1 when I discovered that not only were they running EDGE’s but there was in fact one ZR running in the city now. When I filmed part two I noticed one of the regular recycling’s from part 1 was missing (my best guess would be 626). EDCO sends trucks from their central San Diego office in Clairemont Mesa to Poway, so when I came across 214 and it being a north county truck I asked the driver if this was his assigned truck. He explained to me that EDCO is in the process of converting Poway to ZR’s they should be up and running come sometime within the next few months. He explained to me that EDCO has no interest in repairing the older trucks and are just waiting to get the new trucks ready so they can replace them on route. Something similar to what Republic did to my old trash driver when they were in phase 1 of their CNG conversion project. So at the moment they’re literally using any truck they can to use in the meantime while they get everything situated for the ZR take over (which would explain why a north county truck is running around). Poway should be running full CNG by the end of the year.
Another thing I noticed was that the same drivers that were collecting Poway two-three years ago are not the same drivers today. So a majority of the drivers in this video are not the same drivers in part 1. Which makes it more unique in a way.
One final addition. I'd like to take a moment to publicly announce that as of September 1st, I am officially two years sober. This year has been nothing but a blessing, so many things happened and so many thing opportunities have opened for me I am in a much better state of health both physically and mentally, and it was because of one small decision I made, that literally turned my life around. I'd like to thank my friends, colleagues and instructors that have been there though my detoxification. Their encouragement and their support has helped me get to where I am today. I can also say that I do not fear of relapsing or going back to my old ways, and that I am happier now then I was then. I know every day is another challenge, but I accept it with the achievement and determination in mind. I’d also like to announce that as of July 2016, I have overcome my anxiety. It's taken me two years to overcome my anxiety, from racing thoughts, anxiety attacks, crippled to the thoughts and actions of doing something that would have caused me pain don't stand in front of me anymore. I feel a sense of relief and joy that I no longer have to worry and live my life around avoiding the crippling feeling of the pain. Now this doesn’t mean that my anxiety is gone, it's something that will never probably leave me due to the trauma, but it is a major step in moving forward and looking towards a bright future.
I look forward to a much positive and trilling future, and as for you all, I look forward to working with "El.Paisano Media & Entertainment" to produce more films for you all. Thank you for your love and support, you all are wonderful. However we will be taking a three month sebtical commencing October 1st and we will be returning December 23rd. [Upper Division Classes are no joke people]
I hope you all enjoy!!

#528 they worked my area of Buena Park, but I know that #61 was transferred over from EDCO's Lakewood/Signal Hill District in mid-2013 before serving Buena Park

Pointed Arrow Productions Interesting, I didn't now that EDCO's Orange County Fleet was numerically contiguous with EDCO's San Diego County Fleet, very interesting. I was aware that EDCO sent their EDGE's from Orange County when they began their CNG conversions back in the late 00's but I had no idea they also sent CWS's. Now that they're starting down here I have no idea what's on store for many of these trucks.

I hope they'll stick around for a little while longer. I think that the only EDGE truck we have still is #55 and she's a spare, usually. Most, if not all, of PARK's fleet are now CNG and the only non-CNG truck I've seen belonged to the Signal Hill District down here. Sure miss those things

How do they keep these Rapid Rails going at thar speed? Ours break lift cylinders and one even snapped the arm in half at no where near that speed.

My best guess would be one method many drivers follow what is they set the truck in neutral and then rev the truck, by revving the truck it brings up the RPM's which allows the truck to work at a faster speed. Evidence of this would be when you see the truck jolt forward (0:32) once they're done with their collection cycle because the RPM's are going faster for the drive gear to fully engage. It's either that or they did something to the truck to collect at that speed.
