High praise indeed. Must be highest score ever? Good luck for Sunday. Had a quick look and can only see one place that is listing them for sale but only up to a UK 12 (althoguh Puma do normally do my 13) and only preorder for a 22nd Feb launch. So many shoes launched in the last few days. Can't think it can be a great timing for Speed 4, Pro 4, this, Hoka Cielo X1, NB Elite 4, Mizuno Rebellion Pro 2, Hyperion Elite to seemingly all drop more or less at once. Presume timed for US Olympics Trials and guess before more Alphafly 3 become available - not that I found that overly super at all.

It’s been a torrent of shoes the last few days hasn’t it! The alphafly was clearly launched to try and avoid its presence amongst other shoe launches. This one is superb from my perspective. Reminds me of the Vaporfly days before everyone copied the design.

In Australia, they cost $400 which is $30 more than the Nike Alphafly 3! I won't be picking up either shoe at those crazy prices but if I had to it would be the Alphafly 3. I'm glad the shoe works for you Edd. I like the simple lacing system and the upper. However, I think performance wise for a marathon I'm not convinced. Will we see the US Puma marathoners wear this shoe or the other new Puma shoe tomorrow?

I am a big Puma fan. The Deviate Nitro 2 are my favourite shoes ever (I have just run 1,000km in them and they still deliver), and all my PBs (from 5k to marathon) are in the Deviate Nitro Elite 2. These have been on my radar for a while, they look insane and this review really got me excited. I cannot wait to get hold of them!

Wow Edd, that is some review, as you know I am a lover of Puma ..however their is one major and two minor issue that I possibly have keeping my credits in my wallet. The general fit of the puma's tend to bunch my big toe and the second digit together when racing (I have mortons toe), in the past this has lead to blisters (regardless what I do) in a half and mini blood bath in the marathon (happened twice now even with tapeing ) , the two minor issues are .. not a lover of the initial Roobarb and Custard (it was a cartoon for non Brit readers ) colourway .. and lastly I have a nearly brand spanking pair of the wave rebellion 1 and saucony endorphin elites (both that I got from friends for less then one brand new pair of super shoes) ... I have a feeling these will be like the rebellions pro's for you .. will get them far down the road.

Well, guess these will be on my short list of shoes to try this year lol. I’m not sold yet on my AF3’s, certainly from a durability/value perspective, and I find myself not liking that I have to baby my shoes. Something I do not worry about with my Prime X Strung and Wave Rebellion Pros (current favorites). I’ll wait for a more appealing color way or a lucrative sale before pulling the trigger on these. Although the midsole foam is still called "Nitro Elite" this version of Nitro Elite is not PEBA but a version of TPU called "Aliphatic TPU" (per some other reviewers). I wonder if other PUMA Nitro Elite shoes will switch to "Aliphatic TPU".

Me 👀 after just getting the adios pro 3 for my next half but have been banging the drum for puma since the first deviate, just to slightly up the “superness” a tad. Overall puma have been probably the most consistent brand for me but always firmly in the middle as a excellent trainer, always pipped by a vaporfly or the like for a race.

Are Puma are putting to Saucony? Now very interested to see how close the Deviate Nitro Elite is to Saucony Endorphin Pro 3/4 when it comes out. If they tweak the Nitro foam to improve rebound by a few degrees and keep the weight competitive, then with Puma Grip over Saucony X-900 rubber outsole I’d say the Puma’s for British weather is looking very strong. That’s before we talk value…

I finished the first run in the fast-r 2. After the first steps you feel they push much more then zoomX or any New Balance or Adidas Carbon Racing shoe. For a sub 4:30 pace I only have to push a little bit. heart rate 10-20bpm lower than usually. Have to try it at next parkrun with pb effort.

The fr2 is now super soft on the heel. The v1 was a bit more resilient back there. I find this as aggressive shoe though a more forgiving ride than the v1. The pro 3 has a great midsole but the upper was a bit fiddly for me

So here’s my question. These racing shoes always seem like k have to absolutely stuff my feet into them. I feel as if my feet would go to sleep because of the hugging of the upper…but everyone says that you need that tight fit on these supershoes.
