Eddie is actually right on the dental insurance. Only certain amount is covered each year. That's why unless it is an emergency people tend to schedule dental work in December. So they can have a quick turnaround in January when it's covered again. At least that's how it was at my jobs

Exactly right! Having done insurance claims for over 35 years, I always would recommend to patients to wait until January for the insurance to re-set. And as far as insurance companies go, there isn't one in this world that will pay 100% of any claims. THere is always a maximum to dental insurance. I would strongly recommend waiting until January and have them done them. Baby the teeth for now and get to January.

Same thing here. I have the "best" plan at my work... and there is still an annual max they will pay. So Eddie is right (or at least I'll say, it's definitely common so he's "probably" right).

All dental plans have a yearly maximum limit, usually anywhere between $1000 to $2500 depending on your dental plan/benefits.

It sounds like a spider bite to me. I had one by a brown recluse and that is how it did for me. I still have a scar on the back of my had and it's been well over ten years. Go to the doctor for a antibiotic.

Dental insurance has a yearly maximum. It’s almost worthless if you have a big issue.

Insurance especially dental most often have maximums. You need two crowns, not a filing they are expensive

It sounds like Morgan has a brown recluse spider bite. Your dr can give you an antibiotic if the red circle is spreading and this should take care of it. A lot of people can get cellulitis from these spider bites so def draw a circle around it to watch the area of redness. Also, look at the center and if there’s a black dot, that’s a giveaway that it’s a spider bite

Staph will be a circle around the size of a quarter in the first 12 hours and will spread up to 12 to 14 inches overnight and yes if it’s that she needs antibiotics and see a doctor immediately

It is probably a spider bite. Spider bites have red rings around them and the bite themselves look almost like bad pimples. You should see a doctor though because because a lot of spider bites need antibiotics. I just had one two weeks ago on my elbow.

Tell Eddie that they may have put in a temporary filling but most likely they put a temporary crown on the tooth after the root canal. It may last for awhile but eventually he will need a permanent crown and that is a “normal” amount charged for one, $1000. If he has maxed out his insurance in our area you can apply for a Care Credit card. Depending on the full amount, and he is approved he will have up to 24 months to pay it back interest free.

Off topic I was listening to the podcast and just wanted to say I agree with Eddie on spending that time with your kid. We have 4 kids and between my wife and I, it's doable. There is time if we make time for it. I get it's much harder for a single parent shuffling between two jobs but when there are two parentsI think it's doable. I don't think he exaggerated or maybe it's just a culture thing Who knows You guys are awesome thank you for what yall do from the daily smiles to helping people by doing what yall do!

Eddie, you cannot just keep the temporary filling on or trust me. It will get worse and that is not something you’re gonna want and although the root is dead, the tooth can break there’s numerous other things that can happen. Morgan, circling it with a sharpie is one of the best things you can do make an appointment with your doctor. depending on the type of spider if it was a spider bite, can have massive complications. If it is staph you need to jump on that ASAP as well. Yeah, we’re very lucky to have the insurance that your company offers and that is something everybody should be taken advantage of. I work for a nonprofit, and there is no insurance at all! In order for me to be insured through marketplace, I’m looking at hundreds of dollars which does not include dental, vision, and the deductible is absolutely insane! For anyone in the Bobby bones group, not 😮taken advantage of insurance, 401(k), and anything else such as Amy mentioned, your health savings account you’re shooting yourself in the foot. I would love to have insurance like y’all do.

Morgan needs to go to the Dr. I have been battling the exact same thing for the past 2 weeks. I have been to the Dr twice, and was prescribed antibiotics, my spot looked exactly like Morgans, same appearance, itching, pain redness. I was told it is staph infection and it comes from a bite, scrap, cut or hair follicle that gives the staph on everyone's skin and opportunity to enter and become infected. Antibiotics are needed to get rid of it.
