We have Villas number, we have spanked them home and away a few times now. They aren't Top 4 squad, just an excellent manager. Once he goes Villa will go back to 8th/9th normal position

I think Alan Shearer is trying very hard to seem unbiased on MOTD. I noticed that he keeps saying how every red card against our opponents is harsh (ie Duran and Raul Jimenez), how the other team is usually unlucky to lose, if we get a penalty Alan usually says it's very soft, or that Gordon's goal against Arsenal shouldn't have stood.

In his final step He angles his right foot back inwards to land in centre of Schar instead of pushing it further to right to avoid stepping on him. Changing trajectory = deliberate

People have said the reason it happened was because Duran's left ankle give way which forces him to put his right foot down on Schar, but my argument to this is if your left ankle gives way your body mass will move to the left naturally lifting your right leg as you fall. If you look at the incident again in slow motion concentrating on the right leg you will see he moves his lower part of his leg to the left and down towards Schar. If you fall left your right leg should lift unless you make the conscious move

Just a question Bruno’s goal was disallowed as it supposedly went straight in off his arm However the replays I saw show it hit the leg of a villa defender on the way in ,is that not enough to allow the goal😂

all happened because Villa frustrated at being torn apart by us when they thought they would walk all over us comfortable. the best team on the the day won which was us. then add on their shanagins to get Joe sent off cos they thought they didn't deserve theirs when we knew and the officials knew it was a definite red card offence for stamping on a player

Head injuries are quite rightly high on the concerns list which should make it a high priority for the rule makers to ensure that players who feign head injuries are brought to account especially when video evidence clearly shows that the ‘victims’ quite clearly have not had any contact to their heads.

i think the decision on the stadium will tell us a lot. it has to be a new stadium to increase revenue through increased capacity/corporate, concerts and other sporting events surely? are we going to get the world class training facilities and an improved academy that actually produces players regularly for the first team or for sale. these are the things we need

Definitely a red, he lashed out but had second thoughts half way through. Was messy but he was trying to hurt Schar so was the correct decision. He was going to be sent of regardless. If he saw yellow for that, he would have got another. He was getting bullied and hated it so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Villa fan here randomly, personally before the game i thought it was gonna be a hard game and that scoring first was big if we were gonna take something from the game. So Gordons banger took the Man City Draw smirk off my face lol. In my opinion Newcastle/Eddie Howe had a pretty good way to mitigate Rogers. Since Rogers so is strong and doesnt go down easy, you can actually foul him harder than normal players, grab and pull clothing harder and a second longer and even though Rogers still wont go down, just slowing him down helps everyone else get in position. Dark Arts master class from Newcastle today. Duran Red? Well, I always think that there is the rules and then there is the discussion. I can see why its a red by the rules, I just think that if we could get every ref decision right in every game, that this would not even be a yellow. But Thats the game and while frustrating, cant really hate Newcastle for getting away with selling it as a team. On the other hand, calling Rogers pathetic for responding to a foul by drawing attention to it is basically double speak. Newcastle used their whole team to over sell what I bet didnt leave a red mark on Schar to get the Red, then turn around and attack Rogers for doing what Newcastle is doing back to them. 10 v 11, vs a Dark Arts team, I bet Emery Told Rogers he needed to go down more because the ref wouldnt get yellows if he stayed standing. So go ahead and call Rogers "Pathetic" for going to the ground after getting hit in the face while Newcastle gets away with everything, but be aware that Oil State club banter isnt going anywhere, and if you can succeed in the Premier League by buying the Refs thats good for you, but youll never get any success in European Comps because Newcastle players are Dirty and Pathetic and take advantage of the Oil Clubs buying the Premier Refs.

They should have given him a yellow card for simulating. He didn't get hit in the face but claimed he did, they need to stamp this out in football as the youngsters think its ok to do this type of cheating. Thought this game was played by men, we are very quick to condem the refs for getting things wrong and the players exaccerbate this issue. There's no difference between this and diving in the box, so they should carry a yellow card. If you got hit in the face you can call to the linesman and we have VAR so anything malicious will be seen.
