I met him in 2004 at my family’s bar in metro Detroit. He was in a wheel chair and wasn’t doing very well. I recognized him almost instantly! He and his wife were super nice autographed his book for me and took the time to speak with me for over an hour. As they were leaving his wife came over and hugged me and said I made his day because nobody really recognizes him anymore. R.I.P King!

Was lucky enough to see them perform in Enid, Oklahoma a couple of times. They were nothing short of total class act. Exceptional athletes without the ego that some have when they reach that level.

I was the promoter for his 10,000th game at Hall of Fame Stadium in OKC. He put on a hell of a show and was inducted into the ASA Hall of Fame that night. I have seen them many times and Eddie always made it a point to come visit with me. I even had dinner with him and his wife the night after they survived the the massive Moore tornado. There will never be another barnstormer like him.

My Dad pitched against him in Cenrtal, NY, and they became good friends. My Dad beat him once and was always proud of that accomplishment. In his prime, Eddie was a phenomenal softball pitcher and always put on a great show wherever he went. I'm so glad this video has been made available.

Growing up, my Dad told me about his encounter with “The King”. My Dad played AA baseball when he was younger and when he faced him he said all he heard was the ball hitting the catchers glove 3 times in a row.

I had the great pleasure of playing against the king and his court, on two seperate times, and both were double headers in 1973 and 1974. When I was doing prison time in Missouri, at the church farm minimum security outlet. We even won the first game of the first series. They were all a great bunch of guy's, I will never forget. Even at my age now of 72.

My dad, Bob C beat the King and his court with a team from VA-43 at Oceana Naval Station around 1967. I watched. My dad was the pitcher and Eddie was very complimentary of my dad's stuff, great fastball, good curve and a wicked knuckler. I had the bruises to prove it.

This brings back some great memories of seeing the King and his Court at the Haig Bowl baseball field in St Catharines, Ontario in the early to mid-60’s. A full stadium and I was amazed at what I saw…and have never seen anything like it before or since. A totally class act who stayed behind, signed autographs and spoke to every person who crowded around. RIP King. 🙏🙏

I had the pleasure of playing against EF and his Court in the late 60's in Indianapolis, he struck me out blindfolded. I was our catcher so after the game he asked me if I wanted to catch a couple of his pitches, of course I did! He threw me a fast ball that if it hadn't gone straight into my mitt would have crushed my face! He told me he was going to throw me a curve, said it would break a lot but to keep my mitt still, it will come back to you, and it did, must have had about 3 feet of break to it! That was a fun experience.

I saw him in the early 80s and was blown away. Pitcher, catcher 1st baseman and an outfielder. That was it vs the Baltimore County Firefighters. The King and his Court shut them out. lol

i remember all the small towns and bigger ones i guess in 70's 80.' every bar had a team and before cable tv, cell phones.... slow pitch 3 nights a week, weekend tournaments, 4 th july and so on. i believe all gone now done died out.

WOW! I'm glad I came across this video. It brings back memories. I saw Eddie Feigner pitch in the early 60's in Lowell, MA. He made such an impression on me that I gave a speech about him in my Junior High School Speech Class and started practicing how to pitch like Eddie. I would practice all the time and even set up a place on my front porch where I could pitch into pillows. Of course, I never came close to his greatness, but I did end up pitching for some local teams and even for a team in the Army some years later. Eddie Feigner was the Best! And very inspirational!

When I was growing up they were legendary. So, my dad took me to see them. He pitched from 2nd base and still got guys out. His opponents were an all-star team of players from the surrounding slow-pitch leagues. There were no easy outs. The King just mowed 'em down. By the time of this footage he was way past his prime. Still fun, though.

That game was probably played at Mt. Vernon Memorial Stadium. The entire plot of land will eventually be devoted to a new athletic complex. Sadly, it was decided that the original grandstand was not to be part of the redesign and was demolished. If you ask me, that was a very unwise decision.

Sorry to report ... we beat these guys in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico. My pitcher was a phenomenal hurler. I believe it was 77 or 78. It was the most fun I had ever had as a fast pitch softball catcher. I apologize in advance that I cannot recall my pitcher's name. We both ended up in the ranks of the "Broken Blue"

Saw him in Windsor I think late 60's, once playing Civic League all-stars and once playing a good Senior A team. One of them was an evening game they did after playing a double header in Michigan earlier that day. I remember him with two balls in one hand, throwing them at the same time and going to two different players.

I played fast pitch softball back in the 60s in Los Angeles and we had a pitcher that you could not hit. All we needed was pitcher, catcher, shortstop, 2nd base and 1st base. No outfielder required because the ball never went out of the infield. His rise ball would start at your knees and finish at your eyes. Curve would start at your hips and end up outside. Amazing pitcher.

Man, you should show him when he was serious, no tricks. Virtually unhittable from 60 ft 6". Incredible ball movement and speed. Fast pitch semi-pro and pro softball was big in the NW from the 40's to the 80's. My family and friends were in this heavily, I watched this guy KILL the Totems, Salmons, Olys, Pay 'n Pak- all the national champ teams my dad, uncle, and my dad's cousin played for. When these pro teams would get the guy than ran his mouth and piss him off he'd set them straight- left hand or right hand batter, he'd throw hard with movement and they'd bail on three straight strikes. But I don't recall him EVER hitting a batter, he'd just make them bail. And smile a bit.

They used to come to our school (Private High School in Southern California) and our college team was pretty good but the King and his court tore us apart with only 4 players!!! In fact we changed our defense outfield players because of his success and we won several CIF Championships because of the change!

I saw them in Des Moines in the 70's and the King was great, but the play I will always remember was when a batter hit a pitch and the ball bounced once and came to rest at the 400 ft marker on the outfield fence. The shortstop took off running, picked up the ball and threw a perfect strike to the catcher who tagged the runner out trying to score. The shortstop trotted back and the King motioned for him to go back to the wall and got him a ball which he then threw back toward home plate. However the ball was over the backstop and in fact over the press box at the top of the stadium. He threw the ball out of the ball park, which is a triple-A ball park for the Chicago Cubs. Never saw a person with an arm like that.

I saw Eddie and his group several times in the early 80's playing a local group of police and fire fighters. Here's the thing: There were quite a few men's fast pitch softball leagues back then and many guys who could throw as hard and with as easily as much movement as Eddie. Eddie and his boys would usually play against guys who never faced fast pitch softball pitching from 45 feet (a little league field essentially). The ball comes at you very fast typically rising as it crosses the plate. They would go up there with their high school uppercut swings and strike themselves out. The major league hitters he faced could have easily adjusted to it if given some time and practice. With that being said, Eddie was good at what he did and a carnival-like showman.

The greatest ambassador ever for the game of fast pitch softball. However he never won a game in an ASA national tournament nor was he good enough to. Take him for what he was: A great showman, a very good fast pitch pitcher, and a tremendous asset for fast pitch softball. I saw him come to the town I lived in when I was around 20. Unfortunately for Eddie he was lined up to play against a team that had recently won a National ASA tournament and the World ASA tournament. The King and his Court were behind 21 to 0 after 3 innings and packed their bags and left. At any given time he was never one of the top 25 fast pitch pitchers in the world. He doesn't compare in talent to a Ty Stofflet, Peter Meredith, Herb Dudley, Peter Finn, or Owen "The Fog" Walford. Those pitchers were busy winning national and world titles while Feigner was wowing small town audiences with his bagful of tricks. Don't get me wrong--not saying one bad thing about the man who was so good for the game--but he was not what people make him out to be.

If you saw him in the 80s he was in his 60s or older by then. The man struck out 6 MLB players in a row the first 4 and last one being Hall of Famers. Show some respect.

Stofflet was born in 41, Meredith 60 , Finn 61, Walford 49, Dudley is the only one his age being born in 19. Eddie was born in 25. So all your other comparisons are meaningless seeing as he was in his late 20s early 30s when most of them were born or in diapers.
