Is that the norm? That an athlete releases confidential medical records? Do you somehow have an entitlement to see another person’s medical files? Genuine question. I’m honestly not aware of any legal obligation for that to take place.

@@jackkeane6 right that’s what I figured. This is a rematch clause I imagine where AJ either enacts it or doesn’t. No onus on AJ to release confidential medical information at all. And certainly an athlete’s manager, promotor, publicist etc has zero authority to release someone else’s confidential medical files I’m guessing.

@@jackkeane6 roger that. In my years of following boxing I don’t see many boxers releasing medical files. Certainly don’t see others releasing them on the athlete’s behalf. As for whether he’s injured or not we obviously have no idea. What is he now 35? Makes sense he’d be carrying injuries and Dubois battered him in that last fight. Pillar to post and back. Entirely likely he’s not ready for another camp but for someone (the original comment in this thread) to expect AJ’s promotor to release a private citizen’s confidential medical files is a little strange. Just shows how far removed from the reality of situations we’ve become these days to think a promotor releasing an athlete’s private medical documents is somehow now an expected norm. That would actually be illegal.
