Sky and Matchroom are better at controlling the narrative of a result. E.g. When Dubois lost; Frampton and Haye live on air called him a quitter and gave their honest verdict with no concern about Dubois’ public image (which is exactly the right thing to do, they’re being paid to give objective opinions after all) If Dubois had been a Sky fighter the narrative straight away, the moment the fight finished would be Adam Smith, Macklin, Bellew and Nelson all drilling home “He’s only 23, he was brave, he suffered tremendous damage to the eye, he’ll come back stronger”. They would have controlled public perception through their on air narrative and post fight social media campaign, they would have limited the damage and had everyone believing that Dubois was seriously hurt and that no fighter could have continued under such pain, they’d have reminded everyone that Vitali, Duran and Chavez Jr all quit in fights yet they’re referred as some of the toughest fighters ever, etc. Look how they reacted when Brook lost to Spence for example or when AJ didn’t want to continue against Ruiz. It was a totally different story.

It's a bit different though, in the ggg fight brook didn't quit, he was pulled out but after was told if he had boxed on he would've lost his sight, then the exact thing happens in his next fight and he has it in the back of his mind that he could loose his sight because it feels exactly the same as before. Also brook was fighting at world level in a very close fight, dubois was getting out jabbed all night at British level and looked like he had no answers & didn't want to be there, can't really compare the 2

@Dave I don’t have a problem with him stopping. The main issues are he was consistently hit with a jab from someone who is not the quickest of punchers, which has broken his orbital bone. There’s a fair chance he will be weakened in that area and susceptible for the rest of his career. As I said, I feel for him. Set up as the next big thing and thrown in to a bad match up far too early. Career could be over before it fully begins.

He talks about when he broke the orbital bone of a sparring partner. As I correctly stated, only a fool would continue with that injury. Dubois would've been blind in that eye for life.

6 minutes which may have saved his eye and career, I agree his head movement is shocking but he can improve upon them and his defence e.g footwork, parrying shots, sliping shots and riding them- Joyce is a quality fighter with experience- Dubois needed more experience only fought British level fighters- it’s more his trainers, managers, promoter blowing gassing him up making him believe he is invincible but Joyce is a great fighter, and levels above him. Plus Dubois is pretty predictable in his shot election it’s a one-two and a left hook to the body needs to vary it up with angles

i am not a massive KSI stan or anything, but JJ can genuinely fight, when you see all his training and everything. The way he fought Logan was more of a decision than just how he fights. He is a bit scrappy sure but they found Logan didn't like people coming at him and he was so much shorter than him he just fucking ran at him hahahaha. Honestly, i think JJ vs Jake would be 50/50. If JJ can take Logan's best and carry on to win the rest of that fight then unless he takes sustained attacks from Jake then he'll be alright, plus he can bang when he lands
