You said the other day that you had to room to make a full album reaction to SMiLE. Since the album is split into three sections c can you do one of each, to make the videos shorter? Jamal, you don’t understand how great this album is. Brian Wilson presents SMiLE will make you change the way you see music forever

The keyboard player is a legend, the great Paul Shaffer. He was the band leader for the Letterman show, here with Sid McGinnis on guitar, Will Lee on bass, Anton Fig on drums and David Sanborn on sax. Shaffer is well known for his fairly campy style and crazy clothes.

I have such fond memories of this song for so many reasons. I'm 60 years old and I remember Eddie's first LP being one of the first 10 albums I ever bought in my life(I was in high school). I also remember being one of the millions who had a crush on Ronnie since the first time they saw her. I was thrilled when this collaboration happened. I live in NYC and the big rock station wnew-fm was featuring Eddie Money is the headliner at their New Year's Eve concert which I had tickets to. And the whole time I was driving there I asked my wife, I wonder if Ronnie Spector is going to show up for that song? And you know what, she did! It was awesome

The lettermen house band was one of the great late night bands, and bands in general. The music director, keyboardist, and the lead singer was Paul Shaffer, a wildly talented musician, and the co-writer of "It's Raining Men." Seeing these two perform brings a tear to my eye. #GoneTooSoon.

The whole point of the song is a reference to the Ronettes' hit "Be My Baby", where Ronnie Spector sings "Be by little baby, oh, oh, oh, oh". That's why Eddie Money's lyrics are "Just like Ronnie sang...", and then Ronnie pipes in with "be my little baby". And then Paul Shaffer (on the piano) does the move that Jamel is laughing at, which is taking us back to the sound of the 60s. The whole thing is brilliant.

Eddie signed her 3rd autograph, "Are you following me? Eddie Money" She prizes that one above the rest. :-)

Paul Shaffer (on keyboards) is quite the goofball. He was in the band on Saturday Night Live for many years, and can be seen in a number of sketches, hamming it up -- my favorites being where Bill Murray played a stereotypical lounge singer (one memorable sketch featured him singing the theme to Star Wars). Then of course Paul was David Letterman's "second banana" and comic foil for all the years that Letterman was on the air, in all of his late-night shows -- Paul's band was at first called "The World's Most Dangerous Band" and then when Dave's show moved to CBS, they were called "The CBS Orchestra" (both obviously very tongue-in-cheek).

The late Ronnie Spector performed Be My Baby in The Ed Sullivan Show. The late Glen Campbell played guitar 🎸 20+ years later, Ronnie Spector returned to the same theater. It is a return of Ronnie Spector. The theater was named after Ed Sullivan. He passed away in the 1970s. The song inspired Brian Wilson and the late Roger Christian. They wrote Don't Worry Baby. In 1998, Garbage 🗑 wrote, produced and performed Push It. A sample of Don't Worry Baby is in the verses. Lead singer Shirley Manson tweeted her eulogy. RIP Eddie Money, Glen Campbell, Ronnie Spector.

I feel very lucky to have seen a number of artists live in concert. Back in the good ol' 80s, general admission concerts were a thing. I was one of those people who would go to the venue a couple hours before the doors were supossed to open. It was 1984 in Jacksonville for 38 Special, and Eddie Money opened. As soon as the doors opened, many of us would run to get as close to the stage as possible. I ended up Center stage. When Eddie Money came out, he was stiff and looked shy. A couple songs in and he was giving us all he had. A true performer!! RIP to Eddie and to Ronnie.... 🙏🙏

I saw Eddie Money in concert about 8 years ago. We did a meet and greet. He is the sweetest guy ever! So down to earth and complimented me on "how beautiful I was, and loved the yellow blouse that I had on." He told my fiance "you better hold onto that one. She is a good woman. I can tell that." He then kissed my hand and told me good night. It was something really special for me! Great concert as well!

Ronnie Spector -- god bless her. Thanks, Eddie Money for having the right instinct to invite Ronnie into your great rock song. You were both so incredible. (The keyboard player is Paul Schaffer who is a bit dorky -- but I assure you the man is a musical genius & has been used on countless high-end sessions because of his versatility on instruments & as a bandleader. He could play anything, anytime, with anyone, has a perfect ear, can fake it proficiently & improvise on the spot. He often leads the R&R Hall of Fame band because he can play countless songs by major artists. My music teacher knew him & he assured me a Paul Schaffer is few & far between in the music business. The man is a genius).

This was sos much fun. To see her comeback like this all those years later. And on a cool dude like Eddie Moneys song? Iconic. Ronnie is lucky she escaped Phil Spector’s clutches. He was a controlling, abusive schmuck. And he did end up killing a woman in his home. So this woman, Ronnie Spector, certainly deserved this feature. She deserved to have a comeback on her own two feet and in her own time. And Eddie saw that and helped make it happen. He bowed down to this queen. He was an alright guy.

I think for this live performance, they had Ronnie come up from backstage, and perhaps even turning and shaking it, to reflect on the video. The world's most dangerous band fronted by Paul Shaffer who you noticed really getting into it. Paul is a really great guy, I got to meet him for Fleet Week a couple hundred Sailors and Marines were on the show for about 10 seconds, but it took seven hours to fully pull it off. While we were waiting outside, he came out and just talked with us. Like Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam where he listened to short stories from individual soldiers, Paul listened to ours. Paul is incredibly talented. Meanwhile, David only liked the visual part. He didn't even shake hands with the 3 Sailors who were literally within reach. Not even after the cameras stopped recording.
